Sonny Lofthus is a strangely charismatic and complacent young man. Sonny’s been in prison for a dozen years, nearly half his life. The inmates who seek out his uncanny abilities to soothe leave his cell feeling absolved. They don’t know or care that Sonny has a serious heroin habit - or where or how he gets his uninterrupted supply of the drug. Or that he’s serving time for other peoples’ crimes. Now Sonny is the seemingly malleable center of a whole infrastructure of corruption....

As an ex-DCI, Smith could have retired by now, and it is clear that some of his superiors wish that he would do so.

John Lee & Jo Nesbø match made in heaven
Superb story and narration, as per usual. Harry's back with no signs of slowing down. With a series this long you'd sometimes expect a flop. Thankfully this isn't the case and Jo Nesbø continues to regin supreme. John Lees performance is top notch.

Another good Harry Hole thriller. Jo Nesbo continues to keep me guessing, who the bad guy is, until very near the end of his latest book. I'm glad he decided to continue the Harry Hole series. This one involves a potential "vampirist."
