Too long

Story seemed to go on forever with too many plot lines. Also too unbelievable that someone who has been popping pills for years can just stop cold turkey without much problem and that a daughter is lighting cigarettes around her mother’s oxygen machine!

Well written

I ended up trying one of Lars Kepler Joona Linna books in the middle of the series. Had this been the first one I don't know if I would have invested more time into them. In the middle of the book there's a long chapter, over an hour, all a flashback of the hypnotist's earlier life 10 years earlier. It's all about how he drinks and is unfaithful to his wife and sex escapades. Completely unnecessary. No wonder I've spent so much of my life having to deal with the fact that Swedes are oversexed etc. I'm nothing like that which luckily my American husband understands and knows. I never knew until I came to the US that Swedes have such an attitude. I don't appreciate it. I also felt it was completely unnecessary in in murder mystery book. I almost stopped reading/listening at that point. I fast forwarded through those sections.

On the upside the book is well written and brings me back to Stockholm though I have fun correcting the pronunciation of street names and other landmarks. Narrator did a good job.

Great detailed story

I love that this author gives many little details and ties them all up neatly by the end. There is nothing left unfinished. Excellent reading amazing characters. Loved it.

What a treat! A brilliantly narrated, fast moving and chaotic story involving a multitude of fascinatingly complex, seriously flawed characters.
