Reminds me of radio days

These remind me of radio days, with the added effects. Thought the narration was good, clear and well told. Have a lot of audio by the author and enjoyable all of them .given audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

The Complete Script Style in the Rathbone & Bruce

I enjoyed this series immensely. Great book and love the narration. It is a lot like old time radio productions. If you enjoy the Basil Rathbone rendition of Sherlock then you will enjoy this. Though Nigel Bruce's rendition of Watson is my least favorite. He turns Watson into a bumbling fool, the novels show a deep friendship between the two men, and give Watson a dignity lacking in other media.

What a flashback to my childhood!

I grew up with a great live for the Sherlock Holmes stories and the great portrayal of Holmes and Watson by basil rathbone and Nigel Bruce. This set of scripts is amazingly true to that style I grew up watching that lead me on To read everything Sherlock Holmes I could get my hands on. The scripts are so well written, narrated and blended with music and sounds that as I listened I could vividly imagine it all in my mind as if it were those same characters of old black and white going through everything I heard. Any fan of Holmes stories will love this! I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher

Intriguing

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I do love a good Sherlock mystery. Sometimes though I’m afraid to listen to some new ones by different authors because I just I don’t want to be disappointed.
This series lived up to every expectation. It was wonderful. It was a little hard to get into in the beginning because it’s read like a play script or movies script. But once you understand that’s how it’s supposed to be you really can’t read this series any other way.
Ian does a great job in adding to the original Doyle Sherlock series. I was sure why the stories were kinda short on their own but in the final chapter it becomes clear. All of them are tied together in a way that is both expected and unexpected.
I will be listening to this again.

Music is distracting

The story isn't good enough to overcome the musical distractions. The play format doesn't work well as written. Couldn't finish listening.

Corny

If it weren't for Mr. Theis' voice characterizations, this would have been a total waste of time. Four stories, done in script format, that are poorly written and demean the legend of Sherlock Holmes. Sound effects and music that are, both cheesy and laughable.
