A truly excellent book worth getting and absolutely worth listening to. I love the detail and expanded story to the anime.

Anime still better but

The anime still much better and action packed but
This book actually gives you more insights about the events of the anime And the fact that is monica real the VA who voiced Tanya in the anime is just better
I recommend this book if you like the anime but felt like there should be more to the story

The anime was a fun watch, but listening to how things go about with more detail seems more engaging.

It's great to hear the same VA for Tanya from the English dub of the anime.

Surprisingly good

As someone who hasn’t read the manga or watched the anime, I was skeptical about this book. Many of the reviews referenced one, the other, or both and how good or bad the audiobook version was in comparison. But I’m surprised at how much I enjoyed the story. Much of the military jargon sailed right over my head, so it’s nice that they took the time to explain the concepts referenced.

The performance was also amazing as well. Though having a professional anime dub voice actor does help. Monica Rial’s acting gives off that perfect sadistic drill sergeant while still sounding like she’s not old enough to drive.
