Publisher's Summary

The Netherworld: it is a hellish landscape inhabited only by demons, creatures born from the dark abyss. It is also the only world Salvos knows.

Joining the ranks of newborn demons, Salvos is thrown into the violent, anarchy-ruled landscape of that world. To survive, she will have to learn, she will have to adapt, and she will have to evolve. She will gain experience to reach new Levels of power.

Her curiosity aids her but her pride could be her fall. It is the nature of the Netherworld to avoid or conquer any threats faced. After all, the law of evolution is survival of the fittest, and Salvos is a survivor. And perhaps, eventually, she will leave this world behind for a better place. But is that what she even wants?

Salvos is a monster evolution litRPG series that follows the adventures of a Demon girl. It is set inside a game-like world with classes and levels, but it is not inside the world of a video game.

Good Narration, story was okay

I’ve been trying to fill a void that the He Who Fights With Monsters series has seemed to create after reading it. This book was okay however.

The narrator was too good for this book, she had great character distinction in the voices and kept a great pace for this shortish book.

I found the main character a little annoying at times; I think this was the point though. The instances I can think of are when she is basically explaining common sense. Other than that there were times when the naivety of the MC was the purpose for the over explanation of basic interactions and things of that nature.

To conclude: the book was well written for what it is, don’t take it too seriously, it feels like it was written for teenagers. Still, it was funny at times and the story was easy enough to follow.

Okay at best

This book took a different route than most books I’ve read. Providing a different view to the human world through the eyes of a demon. Honestly at times it was funny. Overall this book was a bit shallow in depth. The world building felt a bit bland and the side characters were only a little developed. SPOILER

I wish that the 2 evolution was not at the end of the book because I was curious what a (practically) neutral gender demon would do with a gender body. I know this sounds like a gripe but after watching her progress intellectually it felt like a waste to have her evolve at the end. I hope the 2nd book is better.

Love, love, love!

Solid world building, and love the less-than-perfect MC. Tess is my favourite and she killed it as usual!

Hooked from the start! Fantastic narrator

This is the first audiobook I've listened to by Tess Irondale and she absolutely killed it! I'm a big fan of Andrea Parsneau and her work on The Wandering Inn series and Tess Irondale just entered the LitRPG scene with a bang. The story is captivating and well written and works well with Tess's narration style - a perfect pair. When is book 2?!

Cant give it more than 3

Really the book is just a rough one to get through, maybe the series as a whole ends up better but when the MC takes the first 5.5hrs of a book to discover (literally) that rocks are just rocks and that wild animals hide during rain......it gets real hard to push on.

Add in a few inconsistances to the mix and i just cant rate it any higher than a 3, hopefully the series gets better.

I prefer the text version

I have read past the first book and totally recommend it. However, this first book did not endear me to the series initially. The girly and enthusiastic voice used by the narrator is probably accurate to the character, but it tends to grate on me unfortunately. Also, the main character didn't grow on me until the later books. And the lengthy and repetitive narration of the stats page for the main character and system messages gets old real fast. Maybe a summary of what changed would have been better.

Solid litrpg

Decent story with fair progression. Main Characters single mindedness gets a bit annoying, though it is understandable and explainable.
