really good!

very good, but I think could have been improved with a modern day tie-in with Lin from the movie. highly recommend!

Not quite my thing

The way the story was laid out. It was obviously written by someone who was telling a story in a different language. They did a pretty good job with the translation, but it assumes that you have many more of the cultural knowledge and biases of China. As a silly westerner, I don’t handle all of that.

one word.... Meh....

well.... this Is more chinesse than assasins creed...
im in half, lost in all the uncles (everyone Is uncle.... chinesse thing) And i know what it is about, but im lost in subplots.... what they are about? cant keep track od characters.....

so.... Meh....

not exactly AC story but close enough

I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't a whole lot of assassins creed about this. just some things thrown in here and there. but! the story still had connections to the AC world and was just a great story told overall. the narration is ok but every male voice was the same so was hard to differentiate most times but she does have a soothing voice so I didn't mind most times.

Hard to get through

the story is just OK, the narration in monotone the entire time. it was very hard to not stop it and continue with the next book.

Everybody was Kung Fu wizards?

It might've been fine (a little over the top, a bit too much exposition) as a dynasty intrigue with super kung fu. Maybe. But one of the keystones of "Assassin's Creed" is that magic of any kind isn't real. This story, with its magic martial arts, just doesn't get that.

Not a assassin's Creed book

Though set in the same world and mentioning some key characters. This is a heavy departure from the world of assassin's Creed and the other books, the the narrator has a good voice and clear to understand, but her attempts at other voices pulls me out of the world. And the story is filled with a large amount of filler and unnecessary details that serve no purpose to the story. But that part that really breaks it for me is the extreme emphasis and reliance on energy bending and powers and super human abilities Making it feel alien to the world of assassin's Creed

It might be better in print but not so great as an audiobook.

Maybe it’s just me…

Honestly I couldn’t get through the whole book.

I found the narration to be irritating. As the narrator telling the story, using her own voice it was tolerable but when speaking as a character it sounded like she was gritting her teeth, especially as a male character when her voice became so low it was difficult to hear.

It might be easier to follow the story without the low, rumbled mumble of the male characters.
