Wingman rule number one: don't fall for a client.

After a career-ending accident, former NFL recruit Ian Hunter is back on campus - and he's ready to get his new game on. As one of the masterminds behind Wingmen, Inc., a successful and secretive word-of-mouth dating service, he's putting his extensive skills with women to work for the lovelorn. But when Blake Olson requests the services of Wingmen, Inc., Ian may have landed his most hopeless client yet.

From her frumpy athletic gear to her unfortunate choice of footwear, Blake is going to need a miracle if she wants to land her crush. At least with a professional matchmaker by her side she has a fighting chance. Ian knows that his advice and a makeover can turn Blake into another successful match. But as Blake begins the transformation from hot mess to smokin' hot, Ian realizes he's in danger of breaking his cardinal rule....

5 Wingtastic Stars!

I am not kidding this baby is a fantastic read. All the feel good with the laughter you’re used to from Rachel’s books.

This girl can write the heck out of a book and in the males prospective as well. I love it and that’s almost too mild of a term each time I had to put the book down I was sad each time I picked it up I felt like I was reading about friends.

So we meet Ian Hunter, part of the Wingman Inc. Former NFL recruit all round smexy fun loving ladies’ man. He has some bestie, Lex his other half of Wingman Inc. and Gabby is girl bestie.
I freaking loved the dynamic between these three, Gabby and Ian remind me of a brother, sister team where you’re afraid to sleep with your eyes close because said sister will pop your eyes out lmao. I am telling you the comic relief in this book is off the charts. Gabby and Lex omg these two I swear they are going to tare each other limb from limb or end up in bed together. Ha ha.
“You disgust me.” – Gabby

“You love me, little sis.” – Ian

“Sometimes I wonder why.” – Gabby

“I bring up the group average by at least two points, admit it.” – Ian

“Only because you have nice hair,” – Gabby

“That’s my girl.” – Ian

This is just a snip it of what’s to come in this book. We then meet Blake, Gabby’s newest roommate.
Blake is a shy but strong character and I loved watching her become herself. For me I thought she was hiding behind grief, and maybe a little self-esteem issues from the past. But she is ready to shed the old for the new (for the most part, those flip flops! Ha) and she ends up hiring Wingman Inc. to help her get long time crush David to notice her. Blake is no strange to hanging out with the guys her issue is being more girly and getting David to see her as a woman.

Ian gets assigned the task to whip her in to shape. There crazy wit together cracked me up so often I laughed or had a smile on my face whenever these two where on the same page.
Only with this amazing chemistry comes a complication Ian doesn’t see her as just a client any more but possible something more and he keeps repeating to himself. A client, A client, A client. Wingman Inc. has rules after all.
Sometimes rules are meant to be broken and you have to go with the flow.
So when they stop fighting the pull that’s when it becomes amazing, scary, frustration, funny and sweet. Never had I enjoyed a book more….. Well maybe The Bet also by Rachel that was just and fun to read.
Here are a few snips to get you wanted to pick this baby up.

Ian – holding a pillow to Gabby…

“She can’t breathe.” – Blake

“She breaths through her hair.” “She’s find.” -Ian

Ian to Lex
“I’m going to bed to sleep it off and hopeful not die. If I wake up a zombie, take at least a few cool pictures before you decapitate me. Cool?” lmao who says this!

Ian to Lex
“I think we need more alcohol if you’re going to use words like ‘panty-melting’ Lex.”

And this is my favorite of Ian’s head talking.

“In our world? Every woman is beautiful. Every woman has a purpose. Every woman has one guy she’s been after, one unobtainable piece of man art.”
I loved this so hard!

I can’t wait for the next installment in this series!!

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫

This was a fun book! I loved these characters, especially Blake. She was feisty, quirky and sweet all in one. Ian was cocky but that was more of a cover and the banter between these two was off the charts! Not only were these main characters great but the side characters were just as good! Lex & Gabi are hilarious and the sexual tension between them was perfect! I wasn't sure if I was going to like this when it started because of the "match maker" aspect, it's over done but honestly I loved the way RVD pulled it off. Can't wait to start book 2! I just know it's going to be Lex & Gabi's book!

Jeremy York did a good job, especially on the cocky guys in this book!

Another hilarious one from RVD!

5 Crazy Ass Must Listen Stars!!!!!

RVD does it again with this hilarious start to a new series! I went into this blind not having read the blurb or anything. After reading the Consequences series, I just had to see if RVD had in her to continue the hilarious stories she writes. Well, I wasn't disappointed in the least. This had me laughing out loud and at times laugh until my stomach hurt. I even had a few "spit my drink out" moments.
Ian and Blake's banter was the best. Their story had me listening intently and wanting for the next hilarious moment. I never had to wait long. My favorite line was the one about the scrunchie and Napolean Dynamite. "We'll find you something else that doesn't make you look like you starred in Napoleon Dynamite, okay?"
I'm so looking forward to Lex's story. I'm off to stalk so I can see when that is expected to release.

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED THIS BOOK

This book was fun and sexy. I'm surprised my face isn't soar from smiling for 9.5 hours. This is the type of book, for me, to listen to after a dark and intense book.

Rachel Van Dyken did a great job drawing you in and getting you to relate and invest in the characters.

Jeremy York performed a sexy voice for Ian. I also loved his voice for Lex. His female voice for Blake and Gabby were also belivable and distinctive.

I will listen to this book over and over.

I bought this book and sale for under $10 but it is absolutely worth a credit.

Almost as good as Neighbors From Hell!

What is better than a story about a womaniser falling in love with the tomboy? How about a totally hilarious and crude story about it instead of the sickeningly sweet versions.

The two guy friends dialogue and antics reminded me so much of Jr High boys I couldn't help but laugh. Almost as enjoyable as the Neighbors From Hell book series.

The Matchmakers Playbook Review

When I first starting listening to this book I thought the hero was so narcissistic that I couldn't finish the book. But I'm so glad I didn't quit listening. It was a fun book about two shameless playboys, their matchmaking business and good friends. But, one of the playboys got more than he bargained for in fun but innocent tomboy. This book was funny, sweet, and sexy. Great easy read. Have fun!

Good premise, bad execution

This is my first book by Rachel Van Dyken, and I am not sure if it was the overall story that I struggled with or the narriation. Jeremy York has a nice deep voice, but his female character voices are distracting. There are some holes in the story that could have been fleshed out a bit more to pull the reader into the story more.

too cocky

The book was enjoyable but not a favorite. I liked that it was a romance without one explicit sex scene after another but found the main character to be too cocky (although cocky is usually sexy in a book) and his predictions too accurate to be believable. His expected falling in love happened a little too quickly, without letting the reader in on the experiences that caused it to happen. It was OK.
