Totally captivating!

This is my new favorite author. I only wish she had more books in print and I can’t wait till she gets another one out on the market! I fell in love with the characters and the story totally gripped me and I laughed so much! She masterfully weaves everything together and is like an artist with words.

Just eh? Boring and slow

I tried to like this one, as it seemed like it would be good "on paper" but it is so slow. I got so sleepy either listening to it or reading it.

the Audible narrator did a decent job, but like the Martha character, she came across soft-spoken, timid, shy. it made it hard to hear her at times. she has a lovely voice but it is just SO quiet.

the story may have eventually picked up but I just found it so slow and boring. I would not recommend this unless you're looking for something super chill. also, the supporting characters are all just truly awful people who you cannot like. it is depressing.

not what I was expecting. Quite differnr from what I normally read. sad but fullfilling story about lifes struggles and surprise your not prepared for.

Twists and turns that were not predictable along with tears. I did not anticipate how this book would take me all over the place emotionally. Enjoyed it immensely!

This novel calls us to be involved in the relationships of a family at war with itself. It’s easy to give advice to fictional characters, but that’s not enough. I need to see the ugly corners of my life, face them honestly and make improvements. This was one of those novels that helped me to do just that! I loved Martha’s introspection, forgiveness and redemption. One person in a family can be the linchpin to unlock long held hurts and misunderstandings.
