Intrigued, and a little bored with her slow job at the checkout desk, she impulsively decides to read every book on the list, one after the other. As each story gives up its magic, the books transport Aleisha from the painful realities she’s facing at home.

When Mukesh arrives at the library, desperate to forge a connection with his bookworm granddaughter, Aleisha passes along the reading list…hoping that it will be a lifeline for him too. Slowly, the shared books create a connection between two lonely souls, as fiction helps them escape their grief and everyday troubles and find joy again.

I loved this story. It’s a tribute to the power of books and their ability to enhance human relationships.

This book makes me wish there was a higher than 5 star rating. It was so beautiful and moving and also inspiring. Great narration as well. ❤️❤️❤️

starts slow but worth sticking to

This book gets a lot more engrossing as you get to know the characters better. It's also lovely to see how the books help them pull themselves out of their routines and make connections with other people

I knew when I saw the books they were discussing that I would love this book, but it was even better than most of the books in the list!

The Right Time

First of all I had read and love all but 2 if the books on the “list”. Every one of them very special to me.
This book is now one if that list. I needed this book at this time to remind me of the power of friends, love, and community. I will be reading the last two ASAP.
