Highly clever and unique with characters to love and a satisfying ending.
Though the story takes time to unfold, the interesting, endearing characters and the mystery kept me listening. The time it took to get invested made the ending all the more satisfying!

Such a satisfyingly good novel!
Emily Bain Murphy suspends clever ideas so well and threads them effortlessly, including strange happenings and divergent timelines that seem at first unrelated. It’s a wonderful magic trick to bring it all together so well. The book kept me entranced and guessing. Not to mention, the writing was stellar.

Really enjoyed
I enjoyed this book, I will say that I almost gave up in the beginning because I am not generally inter in books set in the 1940’s and I didn’t realize that this was the case with this book. I am so glad I stuck it out.
