Very good start to a new fantasy series
I'm a sucker for stellar endings that very few could predict. This book had a delicious ending, just riveting. Eagerness to start the next book in a series is not always there for me; this one left me yearning to continue with the story. I love that.
I enjoyed this book though I found the beginning to be hollow. It was just impossible for me to become engaged in the protagonist's mission at the beginning of the book. However, when the main story arch was introduced, a couple chapters in, I was increasingly hooked. This only happened because the main mission of the protagonist (that I found hollow at the beginning) faded into the background and the book became so much more entertaining.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. I am glad I was introduced to this very good start of an entertaining new fantasy series.

A great story!
The author did a great job describing the setting, characters, and political climate. I fell in love with the complexity of Stanti, and never grew tired of the main character, Enly Saint Claire. The book had all my favorite elements in it, including an arranged marriage, and family ties that test how far our heroine is willing to go. I though the writing was beautiful and I cannot wait for book two to come out!
