🦄 Book Review: Prince of Persuasion by Emigh Cannaday ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — Five bedazzled stars and one suspicious talking mushroom

I don’t know what I expected when I opened Prince of Persuasion, but I certainly didn’t plan on falling into a dimension where sarcasm is a love language, fae princes might be emotionally constipated (but hot), and my moral compass got kidnapped by a swoony bad boy with “mommy issues but make it magical.”

This book is like if The Witcher and The Bachelor had a lovechild, raised it on moonshine and unicorn tears, then gave it a Spotify playlist made entirely of Hozier and My Chemical Romance. Emigh Cannaday doesn’t write so much as she casts a glittering spell directly into your frontal cortex and forces you to care deeply about characters with names that sound like IKEA furniture but could murder you with a wink.

The titular Prince? He could talk me into selling my soul, my neighbor’s soul, and possibly the soul of my childhood goldfish, and I’d thank him for it. I don’t trust him. I love him. I’m scared.

And the worldbuilding? At one point, I had to take a break because a sentient tree told a joke that made me reevaluate my life choices. I’m not even sure it was meant to be funny. Maybe I’m the joke.

In conclusion:
Read it if you want to:
• Fall in love against your will
• Crave fae court drama like it’s an afternoon soap opera
• Yell “OH NO HE DIDN’T” at 2 a.m. while wrapped in a bathrobe and holding a snack you no longer remember making

Do not read it if you:
• Hate morally gray love interests (aka, fun)
• Fear powerful women who could destroy you emotionally and literally
• Are allergic to excellent banter

10/10 would sell my firstborn to read the sequel early.

Dark Cinderella Story

This book was way better than I thought it would be. Just love the main characters and the love interest is great too. Can’t wait to read the next one!

Loved this slow burn

Audiobooks are my addiction and this one had humor , heat and tragedy. I can’t wait for the second book.

Good Story

I enjoyed this story. I wish the narration could have had male and female voices, but it wasn't too bad. There were times in the book that I laughed out loud. I loved the female main character. The author did a great job of developing her and her story. I will read the next in the series!

Good start

Overall, the story was entertaining. The cliffhanger ending is annoying but this author loves to use that strategy so I’m used to it in her stories. If you don’t like them wait until this series is done to read this installment.

If you like a lot of heat in your paranormal romances you may not like this book. It could almost be a YA novel with a warning about some sexual content.

The hero is also a bit whiny. Hopefully he will mature in the next book since the ending showed the possibility of him acting more like a grown up man destined to be king.
