Publisher's Summary

Once upon a time...

Recent college grad Emma Damon knows the Rose Room in Hartley Hall is off limits, which is exactly why she can't wait to get inside. Once she enters the forbidden room, Emma learns more about the history of the museum than she ever intended to know.

Waking up confused and shocked in 1816, all Emma wants is to return to her cozy home with flushing toilets and disposable razors. But when she's mistaken for someone else, Emma must pretend to be everything she's not.

About to be engaged to the Earl of Hartley's brother, Emma fails miserably at playing the role of a sophisticated lady. Hartley is determined to ensure that the quirky and adorable woman marries his brother - despite his ever-growing attraction to her. After loving and losing, he refuses to fall prey to the shackles of love. But as his desire for Emma increases, he knows he must forfeit his happiness for his brother's future. After all, there's no such thing as happily ever after. Or is there?

Really loved this!!!

Adoable romance with well developed characters. Sexy parts but no actual sex which I personally prefer. i listened to it non stop. definitely getting the next one.

just one thing though: The narrator early in Chapter 2 makes a big blunder they should fix. Narrator says M16 referring to the British Secret Service. Obviously a reading blunder since it should be M.I.6 (for Military Intelligence 6.... an M-16 is a rifle.)

She is suppose to be college educated

For a college educated woman she is very dense.
Are they sure she is a history major?

Read It!

I almost never write reviews on books I just leave the Stars cuz it's easier, I grabbed this book on a whim hoping it was just something I could fall asleep to. However it turned out to be one of my favorite books I think I've ever read, the witticism, one liners , and just the way that our main character speaks is extremely amusing. I truly truly enjoyed this book! do yourself a favor if you like Regency, if you're even remotely interested in a time travel book do it!

Loved It!

As a writer myself and a time travel enthusiast, I found this book to be charming, funny and captivating. Emma is such a contrast in the personality of Hartley, showing true to opposites attract. I smiled and even laughed out loud at times. Great book!

Oh, 1816!

It wasn’t too awful to read...I guess what I am trying to say you must really like reading history or like books about time travel in order to read it. I swear, who wants to be in the year 1816? It’s a pretty intense and interesting century. I love how Sariah Wilson had a way to do a full circle on this story. It’s good to have a little twist of it all. Sometimes, it’s good to just escape to a paranormal love fantasy. Just get ready of teasing, eye googling, and ballroom dances.

Was reasonably good

I chose this book as I wanted to see how time travel was going to be dealt with
I found s many bits of this annoying. The woman, Emma, is supposed to be a historian.
The fact that she kept throwing in 20th century jargon, when it would obviously make no sense what all to the period she was in, was so annoying. I get she would have maybe done this right at the start, but once she knew where she was .....
I did enjoy the back story of the aunt and sisters. This kept me going, as well as how was the ending going to be dealt with.
Probably would have given a rating of 3.5 as 3 would be logo low.
