Epic Fantasy

For me this book has a familiar but distinct feeling. I am so happy to have read this. By virtue of being such a long book there is some pacing but it has been fun to explore this world and its hero’s. Worth the listen!

Turned a casual a fantasy fan to a bigger fan!

I only dabble in fantasy and got a hankering for dragon rider-type stories. Found this gem of a series that combines great story and writing with an amazing narrator. I'm a fan of Cahill and this series now.

my number 1 book this year

the narration is great, story really gets running from the first book, and a ending that will make you instantly get the next book

Better and better

This series started off good and is building into an epic tale. So glad I stumbled across Ryan Cahill - he’s a new favorite that I look forward to following.

The story line is so detailed and so well written

10/10 I’m sure if you are wanting to read this book it’s because you loved the 1st book. So my review is known. Soooo well written and a great audio book, keeping me engaged the entire time and excited to pick up where I left off. Very much looking forward to book 3! This series needs more hype

What didn't I like? Nothing! Can't wait to download book #3! The journey is quality fantasy.

Marvelous fantasy at its best

it's difficult to execute a high fantasy book with a cornucopia of characters and plots without losing the integrity of the story somewhere, "Of Darkness and Light" makes it look easy. Wow, just wow! And Derek Perkins is always superb. Finally after trifling through so many par and subpar novels, one worth finishing.

Soooo much fun

This has to be my favorite fantasy series of this decade. I’ve already lost many hours of sleep because I was simply too excited to stop listening. If you liked book 1, this is even better!

Looking forward to book 3!

I'm fully immersed in this world and am really looking forward to learning more about what our heros are facing and how they will inevitably defeat them. Seriously though, this is some fun straight up fantasy adventure with a fairly interesting world that keeps the pages turning! I did 2 and a novella in a row and I am not at all burnt out. I listen when I walk and read the rest of the time and this narrator makes me walk rather than drive so I can get a few more read to me chapters in, he is good!

storyline and descriptive writing

this series just keeps on giving. great arcs and twists. can't wait to see what he throws out next.
