Publisher's summary

Cade Williams was just an ordinary cop until the night a fallen angel nearly killed him. Now he commands the Echo Team, a special ops squad of modern Templar knights, and the things they hunt are far darker and much more deadly than the criminals that he used to face.

Get the first three full-length novels in this digital box set of New York Times best-selling author Joseph Nassise's action-packed Templar Chronicles urban fantasy series, where modern Templar Knights protect mankind from supernatural threats and enemies. More than 18 hours of high-octane adventure and supernatural thrills!

The Heretic - Knight Commander Cade Williams and the men of the Echo Team are the best the Vatican has to offer when it comes to protecting mankind from supernatural threats and enemies. But when the Templar Order itself comes under attack from a cabal of necromancers intent on seizing an ancient artifact for their own nefarious purposes, will the skills of Echo Team's fearless leader, the man some call the Heretic, be enough to stop the slaughter?

A Scream of Angels - When injured and badly dehydrated Catholic priest wanders out of the New Mexican desert, telling a wild story about a secret research installation and bloodthirsty demons hunting men through the halls, it is the men of the Echo Team who are called into investigate. Their mission - infiltrate the facility, determine exactly what happened there, and deal with any infernal presence that might exist.

A Tear in the Sky - When Knight Commander Cade Williams discovers that his wife, Gabrielle, is not truly dead, but held in some kind of arcane stasis between the lands of the living and the lands of the dead, he vows that nothing will stop him from freeing her soul from the prison surrounding her. But his vow is tested right from the start when an old friend calls on him to help protect the city of Boston from the ancient scourge that threatens to destroy it, leaving Cade with a heart-breaking choice: Do his duty and save the innocent lives he has sworn to protect, or forsake them all in order to rescue the one for whom he would brave the walls of hell itself?

Good book, disappointing narration

The story seems to be pretty good (admittedly I'm only about halfway through the set) however the narration and production quality is really, really poor. The speaker consistently pauses at incorrect times in the middle of sentences and then runs other sentences together and even adds inflections to sentences that don't warrant it. The entire composition is really difficult to follow along. I have had to pause the story a few times to rewind and re-listen to a section. I think the story itself is good, possibly not as good as some other similar genre stories, but the composition completely ruins the experience for me.

Not worth it

The first book is not bad and worth the read if you don’t think to hard about the plot holes.

The second book is ok you can take it or leave it.

The third is just trash

Enjoyable trilogy

The Heretic (The Templar Chronicles #2).Well written, fast-paced and entertaining I very much enjoyed my first read from author Joseph Nassise.
A Scream of Angels (The Templar Chronicles #2), I very much enjoyed my second read from author Joseph Nassise. I'd read The Heretic back in February of 2017 and recently was given an Audible copy of A Tear in the Sky (book 3), since it was so long since I'd read The Heretic it was worth re-reading so I bought the audio box set.
A Tear in the Sky (The Templar Chronicles #3), I very much enjoyed my third read from author Joseph Nassise. I'd read The Heretic back in February of 2017 and recently was given an Audible copy of A Tear in the Sky (book 3), since it was so long since I'd read The Heretic it was worth re-reading so I bought the audio box set. Well-written, fast-paced and entertaining. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. I was impressed and enjoyed the vocal variety & inflections of narrator Jarret Lemaster. I look forward to reading more in this series & from this author. If there's one thing wrong with this recording it's the repeated phrases & sentences throughout the 3 books. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

What an (Amazing) journey!!!

Loved it!!! Didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did especially, ALL 3 NOVELS. This is the first time I've ever read/listened to anything by this author, and I must confess, not only did it keep my interest but; he has an extremely vivid imagination.
I haven't been this hooked on a series of books since *The game of thrones books *

this is a very good box set BUT

this box set is good without question BUT I can not stand when words are mispronounced.. Room why the word room? It's not just this reader but others as well and it's enough to make me want to return the book. SMH maybe it's because I'm from Michigan that I feel it's mispronounced

Good story, bad reading

The narrator's performance distracted from the story. When planning a mission it's "parameters," not "perimeters" (especially since he gets it right two sentences later). That just one of more than a dozen examples. The pauses in the middle of sentences followed by run-on sentences is another distraction. Occasionally the wrong character voice is used. There were a couple of time that a line was read twice. Distracting. Annoying. Bothersome.

Disappointed

(spoiler alert) when the writer spends 3 books telling you how the main character is above emotional outbursts. While also showing him do it to his own detriment and his teams detriment. Then to completely flip that felt fake and ruined it for me.

Hard to keep up w/the story due to poor narration

I think I missed a lot due to not knowing right away when the person changed. It is somewhat monotone. Did not sound very exciting.

Just didn’t come together

The performance was okay, but there were some editing issues where things were repeated.

For the story, it just didn’t come together for me. Compared to the previous stories in this series, there seemed to be more telling instead. Supporting characters seemed to take on a red shirt quality (from the original Star Trek) so their deaths didn’t really matter. And the ending was as expected.
