Publisher's Summary

"My earliest memory is of discovering my grandfather's severed head."

The Headless Horseman has risen and rides. Jason Crane is the Horseman's target. But Jason must stay and fight, to protect those he loves. For Sleepy Hollow is falling to evil. Now Jason Crane lives under a tyrannical guardian. Jason Crane must descend into fearful darkness. And Jason Crane has an appointment with death... at the Bridge of Bones. This exciting sequel to 2013's Rise Headless and Ride brings back Jason Crane, descendant of Ichabod of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow - as well as his friends Joey, Kate, and Zef - to face off against the ancient evil of the Van Brunt family. Impeccably researched, with an epic scope and a huge cast of characters, Bridge of Bones brings the weird gothic world of Sleepy Hollow to vibrant life in a way not seen since Irving's original: with fidelity to the real modern town and its history. Bridge of Bones is an imaginative tour de force spanning centuries, and a Halloween treat not to be missed.

Even better than the first!

This book is amazing. It's even better than the first one, which was fantastic! The story really gets cooking in this installment. It grabs you and doesn't let go!
I'm really loving this series because it involves ghosts, supernatural powers, and history. The horror aspects are well done and suitably creepy. Even a little gruesome at times! The characters are well developed and interesting. The writing is wonderful and has plenty of humor to offset the horror. I laughed out loud in my car multiple times! Just a fantastic book.
The reader is just amazing. His voices for each character are distinct and enjoyable to listen to. It's just a treat to listen to this book.
I lucked out at finished this book the day I got a new Audible credit! The third one is an instant purchase.

Love it

Very capturing and interesting. I had a hard time stopping between for breaks ;), but have to admit that I found the end rather sudden. Which does not influence at all my all over impression of this audio book though - I am glad, I was able to listen to it, absolute awesome performance.

Great narrative voice, ok story

The story was ok, but was drawn out needlessly at times, which made for periods of boredom. I was left with wanting the characters to be more revealed. Even though the book goes through many holidays, the story moved slower. The character's gifts should've been more developed and they should've known more about each other and the magiccworld if it truly spanned 9 months. I won't read or listen to another in this series. The narrating voice was really good though.

It got better...

Gleaves did a good job with the second installment. There are parts that seem to drag on to much. The back story of the Van Brunt's is really enjoyable. there are some really good spooks and the whole thing is told very well. I have noticed one thing though that keeps striking me as odd, Mormons (in both books) come up really frequently and they have NO connection to the story and NOTHING to do with the dialogue where mentioned, it got a little distracting.

you need to pay attention to this one

it was a good story but at times became quite confusing. that could be because I was not feeling well, but I felt that at times it switch back and forth between characters too much. I'm sure if I were reading it things may have been different.
