Publisher's summary

Benton Bertrand is a banshee, cursed with the ability to sense death. Every time he sleeps, he becomes a trapped passenger within a murderer’s skin: able to hear, see, and feel every part of their kill. No matter how hard he tries, it always ends the same way - with death.

This collection contains all six books from Sara Clancy’s best-selling Banshee series:

Midnight Screams (Book 1): After 10 years of constantly relocating, Benton’s family decides to settle in Fort Wayward, Alberta. But things change when he discovers why death follows him, why monsters draw close, and why he always wakes up screaming....

Whispering Graves (Book 2): Benton’s world unravels again when he encounters a new monster that kills by whispering its victim’s name. He needs to save the residents of Fort Wayward while preventing this evil from whispering him straight to his grave.

Shattered Dreams (Book 3): Benton travels to a sleep center in a desperate attempt to organize his thoughts. But a violent storm of demonic forces forms, with its eyes set on Fort Wayward. Benton needs to warn the unsuspecting town before demons claim every single soul.

Rotting Souls (Book 4): Recovering from their last ordeal, Benton and Nicole discover that ghosts from their past are stalking a young girl. As they struggle to save the girl’s life, Nicole confronts her lack of remorse for having been responsible for the death of one of the vengeful spirits.

Weeping Moon (Book 5): Benton and Nicole travel to the Fort Wayward tribal festival to seek help regarding his terrifying abilities. They soon discover a monster that uses the cries of an infant to lure its victim. And amid this horror, another devastating nightmare looms.

Death Veil (Book 6): A vicious spirit attacks Benton’s family, and they flee to the Siksika reservation for protection. Here, they are forced to face the past to keep evil from permanently crossing over to the land of the living.

Creepy!!

This series has quickly become one of my favourite. Each book has been action packed and each one seems to get creepier and creepier. Here's a bit of what I wrote in some of my reviews for the individual books.....

Book 1: This was such a great read. Once I started listening, I couldn't stop because so much happens and it was impossible to pause because I always wanted to see what happened next. It never let up!!

The plot was well developed and extremely creepy. I was thoroughly intrigued with Benton and his abilities. There isn't much given away about what he is till near the end, but it wasn't hard to guess either because of what the series is called. I can't wait to find out more about Benton in future books though!!!

I felt for Benton. He is going through so much but no one believes him. I just wanted to grab him and give him a hug. I was so glad when he met Nicole because she is someone he can trust. I loved seeing their friendship grow. Both of the characters were well written and developed and were easy to like, even if Nicole was too happy at times ;)

In all, this was a creepy, intense and fast page read. It's a short enough book, but it packs a lot into it so feels longer. I can't wait to see what book 2 brings.

Book 2: I loved book 1 and eagerly dived into this one when I got it. This starts with a bang and doesn't let up till the end. It's darker and scarier than the first and I loved it!! The plot is tighter than the last and is incredibly fast paced. I listened to this in one day because I couldn't put it aside.

Benton and Nicole have come a long way since the first book and have become stronger characters. Nicole isn't as annoying as she was in book 1 and Benton is learning to live with what he is. They are facing something sinister and I loved seeing them work together.

In all, book 2 is even better than the first. It's fast paced, scary and gripping and I definitely need the next book ASAP. Hopefully it will come to audio soon.

Book 3: This was a lot darker and more intense than the last two. Benton is struggling to understand his powers and with the fact that his dreams have become fractured, I felt for him a lot more than I did before. All I wanted to do was wrap him up in a hug because he is hurting!!

The plot was slow starting off, but it was incredibly creepy and spooky. The authors descriptive writing was able to pull me in easily and I could picture the long lonely road, the raging storm and the scary aspects of the spirits!! I had a hard time putting this down because I was enjoying the atmosphere so much.

I love that I'm not really able to see where the author is going with the story! Benton is certainly growing as a character but I can't see where he'll end up, and that's a good thing!! It makes me extra eager for the next installment. I'm looking forward to seeing what the next evil entity will be and how our intrepid heroes will handle it!!

I could keep going for the next few books but I echo my earlier sentiments in each of them. The series as a whole is amazing and one I highly recommend.

Jake Urry is one of my favourite narrators. He has such a distinctive voice and one that can bring a horror novel, or any novel for that matter, alive. He has plenty of tones and voices for the characters and he is able to bring a story to life with his cadences and inflections. He read this brilliantly and I highly recommend you check him out.

I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.

Banished series

Good read for teenagers or young readers. Do not recommend for adult. But so in all ok.

Fantastic

Fantastic series, I would recommend it to anyone. Each book has a great plot with suspense and supernatural creatures. The characters are well written and with the audiobook the narration is well done! Download it, you won’t regret it! When your done with this series head over to Sara Clancy’s ‘Bell Witch’ series. SO GOOD!!

Needs Different Narrator

The narrator is like listening to fingernails on a chalk board. If it was someone else, I might have enjoyed the book. There were times when I was into the story and wondering what would happen next and then the narrators voice would grind on my nerves and destroy the moment. The story is pretty good but I wouldn't say fantastic by any means. If you have an extra credit and are running out of options, this might be a good pick.

Fantastic series!

Fantastic series of supernaturally scary stories. A little bit of everything with a little bit of clean young love thrown into the mix. Great storyline, well rounded characters with a lot of truths and old fashioned morals make this series of books suitable for everyone.

Amazing story - such a unique flavor!

This is an amazing series... and Sara spends time introducing you to each of the characters... making them so real that you are worried about what is happening...what will happen! It builds and builds - to the 6th book - and then everything gets answered... the ending is fabulous. You will have 31 1/2 hours of suspense and sitting on the edge of your seat.

I didn't know what to expect

After listening to Ron Ripley I was afraid that the other authors would not compare, Glad I was really wrong! The banshee Series is a great series and well worth the listen/read. Sara Clancy did an amazing job of making the characters real people!

Love the story!

At first I didn't get into the story right away since I didn't know what I was getting myself into, but half way through the story I couldn't stop myself from stopping. I love Benton, and Nicole so much that I wish there was more of their adventures together.

Good narrator

For some reason a few folks didn’t like the narrator.i did. The story’s are good, some better than others of course. They do have a nice flow.
I’d suggest it.

Great read

I stumbled on this series by accident and it caught my eye. I could NOT put it down! I find myself wishing I could read more of it. I would love to know what happens with Benton now! It left me thinking that maybe someday the author would revisit this series and write more!

Fifteen minutes of this was much too much.

This was impossible for me to listen to. Firstly, the narrators style of talking is lazy and monotonous. Next, it seemed to me as if the author had just discovered the dictionary. A good descriptive is of course important and required but the total over use of words and over done, over long sprawling descriptions would have had me climbing the walls if forced to listen to any more. Hoping to return this title if possible.

Good story bad narration

this story had the potential of being very enjoyable but the narration really let's it down. totally monotone and made it a little difficult to follow.

loved it - keep listening over and over

Enjoyed the unusual tAke on banshees, the story kept me intrigued as to what was coming next. All the characters felt rwal and I wanted to find out more about them. Really hoping another book in the series will be written. The phrase "he/she swallowed thickly" is annoying in its repetitiveness but I still re listen to these books with enjoyment.

nothing impressive about this series

first of all, the narrator was totally wrong for this job. after the first few lines I couldn't even hear the story, just his voice droning on and on. it got a little better when I sped up the recording. it was an enjoyable enough listen but there was no substance in it. I wouldn't recommend it unless your a 12 year old just getting into the supernatural

Great Story

These are great!! A really gripping story.

The only downside is I personally think the narrators voice sounds far to old for the characters who are in their late teens. I found it rather annoying at times and let the books down

Narration mismatched

i really feel the narrator couldn't comfortably portray all the characters. at points i was unsure who was talking because of the lack of range.

a unique voice and interesting timbre but incompatible with the material

good

I think it was more geared towards YA then adults. enjoyable enough though with some interesting plots and moments of suspense. the character Nicole irritated me she had no boundaries and was just insufferable in my opinion.
