Publisher's summary

When tragedy strikes close to home, Mickey Bolitar and his loyal new friends - sharp-witted Ema and the adorkably charming Spoon - find themselves at the center of a murder mystery involving their friend Rachel. Now, not only does Mickey have to continue his quest to uncover the truth about the Abeona Shelter and the Butcher of Lodz, he needs to figure out what happened to Rachel - no matter what it takes.

Mickey has always been ready to sacrifice everything to help the people he loves. But how can he protect them when he’s not even sure who - or what - he’s protecting them from?

Where does Seconds Away rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

As of all the rest of the Bolitar books this one starts out fast and doesnt slow down thruout. Great listen. Only wish I would have known that "Shelter" was the first of the Mickey series.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Mickey.

What about Nick Podehl’s performance did you like?

great

Love this series!

What did you love best about Seconds Away?

I liked that this was a young man who seems mature far beyond his age. I can't wait for the next one.

What other book might you compare Seconds Away to and why?

I can't think of anything comparable.

What does Nick Podehl bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I don't have time to read & he did a great job.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not really

Any additional comments?

No

Love the Bolitar's

Any additional comments?

Second's Away picks up right where Shelter leaves off. I think you'd get much more from the book if you read Shelter first. Generally I wouldn't read a Young Adult kind of genre but I had become so invested in the Myron Bolitar series (Mickey Bolitar's uncle) I couldn't miss this. It is a light read and sometimes I think the plot takes a back seat to the action but still it is very entertaining. What attracted me to the book is not Mickey but Uncle Myron, who plays only a minor role in the book and we see him through a new and less favorable point of few... seeing flaws that we never knew he had. All in all... Harlan Coben brought it again!!

Scooby Doo where are you?

This was a good story for young adults. I felt like I was reading a non-comedic version of a Scooby Doo episode. All the characters are there but Scooby. And since I am a great fan of Harlan Coben and Scooby Doo I’m looking forward to the next episode.

Love

I am absolutely loving this series. Nick Podehl is one of, if not the best narrator I’ve encountered.
