Publisher's Summary

Part lawman, part tracker and part magician, the Wardens are monster-hunters - tasked with protecting the people from the various, nightmarish creatures that have invaded the world of men.

Despite his personal dislike for the job, Errol Magnus has faithfully carried out the daunting (and singularly dangerous) duties of Warden for their region in place of his missing brother Tom. Truth be told, despite his reluctance in accepting the role, there is no one better suited for it in terms of knowledge, training, and skill.

Arriving home after an extended sojourn in the Badlands, where monsters are as common as blades of grass, Errol longs for just a single day to pass that doesn't require him to put his life in danger. His desire for a respite, however, is complicated by two things: the arrival of a mysterious troupe of performers and the appearance of a bloodthirsty creature that kills its victims in a horribly gruesome fashion.

Now Errol must determine what connection - if any - exists between the troupe and the killings, as well as find a way to stop the monster before the body count goes any higher.

Better than the 1st

Hardman is a really good author and this series was much better with this installment. Narration was really good. Looking forward to the next one.

Great & Exciting Series!

Book 2 continues from where book 1 stopped and leads the reader/listener on another exciting mission with Errol who is reluctantly doing the duties of Warden since his brother Tom is still missing. This book introduces us to a troup of odd performers as well as some new creatures for Errol to battle. The story is fast paced and the characters and world building are on point. The narrator does a wonderful job at bringing the story to life. I enjoy this Author's descriptive writing that makes me feel as if i can see the story playing out right in front of me. I look forward to more in this series and from this Author & narrator.

Short but great continuation of the series

I really enjoyed this one, just as I did book 1. I just wish these were longer. The narrator is good and I'll definitely look for more.

Smart Supernatural Warden

I received this book for free in return for an unbiased review.

I really liked this book, and I'm going to go back and find the first book. it is really short, I don't know that it's worth a whole credit, but the world is interesting and inviting.

One con that is pretty picky. The author doesn't know the difference between venom and poison. Look it up dude, there is a difference and it's annoying when it's used incorrectly.

The warden is back and he is awesome!

Even monsters love their children. So what happens when your Child goes rogue. The circus is in town and it’s not like any that you’ve seen before. His brother is still missing he’s acting as warden in his stead still. There’s a budding romance some female rivalry politics monsters magic curses and more. This series is a must for fans of the seventh som and the book series it was based on. Really great stuff well-written well narrated highly recommend it. Enjoyed the book, although a little short on time. I was a nice diversion for 4 hours.

Enjoyable story, solid reading

This story is fairly entertaining, though not enough context to the first story is given. Having jumped right into the 2nd book I was confused early on, as without context references to earlier plot elements were too vague to properly interpret. It wasn’t until I was about an hour and a half in that things started to come together.
The narration is very good, and the female voices in particular are clear and appropriate sounding.

quickly becoming my favorite author.

The duo of Kevin Hardman and Michael Naramore are awesome together! I have enjoyed the Warden, and the Kid Sensation series a ton! They are fun and relatable without being too pushy. I think that if you are looking for something different in the miasma of dystopian YA novels out there, give Kevin a try. Now I have to tell you that I received this book without charge in exchange for an unbiased review.

Lure of the Lamia

I really like Kevin's books, so when I saw this I had to get my hand on it and I was not disappointed.

With this authors books you know you will get a good plot with a twist and suspense. This story did remind me a bit of Beowulf, that I read in my teens, which I really liked, so this book did not disappoint me.

I would highly recommend this book!

Exciting Follow up

After the events of Book 1 it seems our new warden( reluctantly) is attempting to recover however the life of a warden barely pauses Errol finds and so the learning experience continues. As he hopes to find out more about his brother Tom still missing he finds out about the other side of the monsters where sometimes it isn't as cut and dry a problem as you would think.
great pace of action, mystery and even a nice dose of humanity rounds this book up well.
Narration as you would expect from Narramore is excellent and comes across well especially in the human moments.
Looking forward to the next in series.
