But that’s all put on hold when he enters his abuela’s house and somehow ends up stepping into a world unlike anything he’s ever known, filled with fantastical meta-humans; walking, talking devils; and other creatures one usually needs some serious pharmaceuticals to see. Story
An inn is a place to rest, a place to talk and share stories, a place to find adventure, or a starting ground for quests and legends. It is in this world, at least. To Erin Solstice, an inn seems like a medieval relic from the past. But here she is, running from Goblins and trying to survive in a world full of monsters and magic. She’d be more excited about all of this if everything wasn’t trying to kill her. But an inn is what she’s found, and so that’s what she becomes; an innkeeper, who serves drinks to heroes and monsters. Mostly monsters. But it’s a living, right?

Too much inner dialog...
The MC has too much thought in action scenes. The excess inner dialog makes things drag. I also find the MC a little dense for my tastes. I will give the next book a shot if it's slim on selection, but drop this if the continuation is more of the same.

Whoever said this was master hunter K
I wanted to like this book because another user said “it’s like master hunter K” NO it’s NOT! first off this dude is waaay underpowered, SPOILER ALERT…..
How is he lvl 18 but letting lvl 8 people toss him around? He uses literally only “let me stealth around until it doesn’t work then only Stab” it was hard to keep going but I pushed on hoping he would idk evolve or something? But nope more “let me stealth and walk around enemy’s until they see me” then when they see him he gets beat up because guess what? He didn’t put any points into fighting only into what? STEALTH oh yea he sees his friend getting killed? Let me watch until I can go back into STEALTH I couldn’t stand it anymore. Amazing narration that basically only reason I kept listening. Again I wanted to like this book but I felt cheated. The other characters are basically only there to question him and the “monsters” were more intresting then the actual humans when he finally finds them. Please do better if it’s a stand alone adventurer we need more actions, need more smart thinking. I don’t want to hear his plans in his head then hear how he Carrie’s out the plan because the “chapter name” basically gives away the chapters plot to where I can guess what happens. Ok sorry rant over

A complete win ...from out of nowhere
Truthfully, this book is one of the best I've read all yr.
The MC is likable and sensible. The magic system is pretty open-ended, and leaves a ton of room for "the players" to develop unique and powerful abilities. The story is well-written, it is similar in some ways to other books in the genre ...but I like the pacing, and I can't lie I'm completely hooked. Can't wait for the next installment.
For me this book was something I chose on a whim. I love it when I stumble across a good book unexpectedly, and this book was really good.
If ur already a fan of litrpg/cultivation/progression fantasy you'll probably like this book. If ur not familiar with the genre, this wud be a good book for you to have as ur 1st experience. Even if u think u don't like the genre, maybe this book will be the one to change ur mind.
Basically, no matter ur starting point, I highly suggest that you check this book out ...it's a winner

Never hated a MC like I hated this MC
Too much internal thinking and overthinking of his choices. Pretty much no world building I feel like there’s no character development outside of fighting it’s a basic story that drawn out for no reason.

It’s been hours, and I have no idea what’s happening…
Tho has been the most poorly narrated book that I’ve listened to. Holy hell, monotone much? Not only are most of these characters near indistinguishable, but the presentation is so damn boring. Also the internal monologue of this MC is written so badly it leaves me speechless. Who thinks like this? It’s like listening to a clipped c

Audience is geared towards children
It’s a fine story line and the reader is fine, but the caliber of story is for the middle schooler rather than an adult. Stilted reading with overly explanatory exposition. The main character is both dense and intelligent depending what needs to be explained.

Very interesting!
i loved it, the story was interesting and kept me guessing. The narration was amazing. it does remind me alot of he who fights with monsters mixed in with a bit of dungeon crawler carl. Its a good story with an mc that isn't overly power straight away its a slow burn. im excited to see where it goes ! cant wait for the next one

Way too many unnecessary details.
Nearly entirely unnecessary details & over explanations of very simple concepts. A long book with almost no story. As an example I don’t want to read an entire chapter devoted to opening the most simplest of traps on a treasure chests etc.

The type of story that you just can’t stop
You listen to this story and just want to listen more. You could be a teenager or an old man and it’s great. Nothing preachy nothing pc friendly. But not some over the top angsty delinquent persona, or crazy with bad speech. Yet still like a great balance of just realness. Hats off. One of the best and will be recommending this story to everyone in the future.

Pretty good
Solid story from Tom Elliot, love to see a rogue do his stealthy thing. I've just downloaded book two which says it all really.
Our main charachter is well written but the villians are a bit moustache-twirly.
The leveling system is overly convoluted, like one of the math heavy tabletop games. Which is fine if we see the character figure that out and exploit it but this isn't one of those litrpgs.
Those are only quibbles though as the action is visceral and plentiful.

Get it.
Litrpg at its core. No fluff, feels like I’m back playing D&D.
Action packed, great pace, good progression. Thoroughly enjoyed

Story
Without so much as a warning, humanity in its entirety was suddenly moved to another dimension. Every person, without exception. But this new world, with all its opportunities and gifts of wondrous abilities, was a stadium. A deadly arena of an unimaginable scale. And humanity was to be its latest gladiators. Every man, woman, and child was given a weapon and ordered to fight. Stuck in this dimension without a way out, only two options existed for the would-be hunters: Fight with monsters to complete the many trials ahead, or perish.

Story
Ashlock wakes in the courtyard of a demonic sect... as a tree. A tree that eats people. An odd start to a new life. Almost as strange as the humans flying through the skies on flaming swords and challenging the heavens. After all, this is a world where humans could chase the goal of immortality through the art of cultivation. But Ashlock is merely a sapling in a desolate courtyard, left alone with his thoughts and unable to speak to those passing him by. Unless he does something about it.

Across the world of Aster Fall, there are unique classes, but not all of them can be trained. They require quests and accomplishments that simply don't exist in the world. Some say the World Law itself is broken and that the world is falling apart. In comes Sam Hastern. His family has been cursed by one of these classes for the last 50 years. No one has ever managed to level it, condemning them to the lowest paying jobs and life in a barren village.
