volume 7 is absolutely necessary!

The series is great. The brutality and cruelty (feeding people to rats indeed) make it unsuitable for the very young, but perfect for morbid teens and just a tad younger, yet adults can enjoy it also. The children develop and grow and mature, but remain youthful.

The Clan has to rescue the former enemy glows, kill Hatch, and steal the Jewel with its hoard of gold and cash. There are some successes and some failures. There are also some deaths that are truly sad. This story ends in a way that could have you thinking it is actually the end of the series, which would be totally unsatisfying, but wait, there is another volume!

With Fred Berman imbuing the characters with very real trepidation, doubts, fears, and courage, this is a joy to listen to.

captivating from beginning to end!

Amazing book! Possibly my favorite of the series so far. The ending just hits you and you are like "No! it can't end there!" I finally see some of the subtext in the series I couldn't in the previous books. The author is one of the greats of our time. Fred Berman is the voice I hear when I listen to this series. He is my favorite of the voice talents to narrate this book.

Epic story with epic cliffhanger

This series keeps getting better. Start with Michael Vey Prisoner of Cell 25. The narrator gets better with book 4. This is a great family series.

I love this writer and i have read this series since I was a young teenager. I am now 23 and the books seems to have grown and matured with with me. I would recommend this series for ages 12 and up!
