Publisher's Summary

Kristina Georgia Snow is the perfect daughter: gifted high-school junior, quiet, never any trouble. But on a trip to visit her absentee father, she meets a boy who introduces her to crank. At first she finds it freeing, but soon Kristina's personality disappears inside the drug. What began as a wild, ecstatic ride turns into a struggle through hell for her mind, her soul, and her life.
Listen to the sequel, Glass.

Critic Reviews

"Hopkins writes in free-verse poems that paint painfully sharp images...detailing how powerful the "monster" can be. The poems are masterpieces of word, shape, and pacing, compelling readers on to the next chapter in Kristina's spiraling world." ( School LIbrary Journal)

Good just not for kids

This duo was well written and eye opening. I listened to it because my 14 year old read "Crank." I do not think that these books are for that age group. I highly recommend that you listen to these books prior to allowing your kids read them. In my opinion these books are for older teens 17 and up. Nothing against these books as I said they are very good just a little too much info for kids under 17, especially "Glass."

Did not enjoy.

Sorry, but I could not finish this book. The narrator's voice was unpleasant and sounded like spoiled, condescending child.

Amazing

Love the style of writing. Helped me relate to issues I am currently dealing with, with my oldest daughter.

Enticing.

If you could sum up Crank in three words, what would they be?

Very, very captivating.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Bree. She's very saucy!

Which character – as performed by Laura Flanagan – was your favorite?

Kristina. At first I didn't like her as Kristina (In my head she sounded very different), but I soon came around. She does a great job!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. Unfortunately I could not, but I returned when I could.

Any additional comments?

Awesome story!

disappointed

What did you like best about Crank? What did you like least?

After about the first hour it did pick up and my interest was peaked a little bit more.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I'm not sure at this time.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Laura Flanagan?

Not sure I would have to read what the book is about and how long the book takes to be read.

Did Crank inspire you to do anything?

To not do drugs.

Any additional comments?

This book ended strangely I feel like there could have been much more added to make the ending a little more concrete.
