Publisher's summary

SPY

In this relentlessly paced tale of international suspense, intrepid MI-6 intelligence officer Alex Hawke confronts an evil like no other. Terror looms as a madman works his dark magic in the heart of the Amazon and a nightmare erupts along the Mexican border, creating a deadly combination that threatens to bring America to its knees.

TSAR

In Ted Bell's latest pulse-pounding and action-packed tour de force, Alex Hawke must face a global nightmare of epic proportions. As this political crisis plays out, Russia gains a new leader. Not just a president, but a new tsar, a signal to the world that the old, imperial Russia is back and plans to have her day. And in America, a mysterious killer brutally murders an innocent family and literally flattens the small Midwestern town they once called home. Just a taste, according to the new tsar, of what will happen if America does not back down. Onto this stage must step Alex Hawke, espionage agent extraordinaire and the only man, both Americans and the Brits agree, who can stop the absolute madness borne and bred inside the modern police state of Vladimir Putin's "New Russia."

WARLORD

Alex Hawke has all but given up on life. The British-American MI6 counterterrorism operative lost the woman he loved almost a year ago and has sought refuge at the bottom of a rum bottle ever since. But late one night at his home on Bermuda, he receives a wake-up call... literally. His Royal Highness Prince Charles, an old friend, desperately needs his help. The prince has discovered a not-so-subtle threat directed toward the British royal family. What's more, the evidence reveals an ominous connection to Charles's godfather, Lord Mountbatten - the beloved family patriarch assassinated by an ingeniously designed bomb thirty years before. A shadowy figure from the past has the British crown in his sights, and has proven once before that his warnings are not to be taken lightly. Several clues point to IRA involvement, but the authorities have little to go on and answers are scarce. This is just the call to duty Hawke needs to get back into action - if the madman doesn't strike first.

I love Ted Bell's Hawk series.

These three novels provided 100 hours of excellent reading. Yes I read it TWICE! NEXT!

I love the action, but his character is changing

The first volumes of Alex Hawke stood apart because he was not a philanderer like the movie version of James Bond. But in these 3 books, he turns into a slut. It really gets tiring that the girls have to have perfectly smooth and fat-free bodies and be stunning. It's tiring that "You're so beautiful" is the best compliment he can offer. It gets tiring to have a play-by-play of bedding them.

Other than that, the action is pretty good. Alex continues to come up with plans to extricate them all from dire situations, but Stokely Jones is developing into a great character, one to rival even Alex. John Shea's narration is spot on for everyone except Fancha who really should have a Portuguese accent (or wherever she is from). She sings fado but sounds like she's from Georgia.

These are interesting, action-packed books with some tremendous characters, but I'd prefer less of the rated-R-for-sex-scenes as they were earlier.

Great read

It was great to get 3 books for the price of 1, and it was great. I love Stokely's sayings, although I am tired of Alex falling in love in every book and it going nowhere. He must maybe just keep at 1 nigh stands
John Shea is great!

Great Books, Just Not In Order

Fantastic series, the only exception being that every female character is the same person just a different nationality. This recording is broken up and is not sequential, but the books are as follows:

Spy: 147 -189, 1 - 77

Tsar: Chapter 78 - 112

Warlord: 190 - 223, 113 - 146

Not dissapointed Love the narration.

The narration is awesome. The story and characters are very good. Although Ted Bell (Alex Hawke) Is no Vince Flynn (Mitch Rapp) I'm still thouroughly enjoying this series.

Chapters are not sequenced properly.

This is three books, with chapters in random order. Best of luck...and may the odds be ever in your favor.

A really bad production

I like the Alex Hawked stories but the bundling of these three books was horrible. I still can't figure out where Warlord starts and probably never will. The chapter breaks in the audio don't correspond at all with the chapters in the app. Just a bad job.

Is this a parody of 80s action movies?

The British characters are intresting almost bondish. The American characters all irritating buffoons. Won't read anymore in the series

Stories great but everything was jumbled up!!

I love this author and the series but about a third of the way through I realized the books in this purchase were not playing as expected and I was confused about how what was happening. Seems each book downloaded in parts and played out of order. You'd jump from book to book, back of one story to middle of another to front of a different story. It was confusing and irritating.
