Love the Series

This has been a very enjoyable series. Wonderful author and have enjoyed Matt Bates as the narrator.

This is a great addition to the epic series. Well performed with a story that always keeps you entertained. I will be sorry when the series is finished

captivating and raw story telling. an absolute delight to read. bates does a fantastic performance of the novel.

Last Kingdom, Best Kingdom

I have throughly enjoyed the series. One of the best historical fiction series that I have read. I appreciate the explanation that the author gives at the end of each book tying characters, facts, politics and their place in history. It was interesting to follow how a united England emerged.

One of the best historical fiction writers ever

It had been a couple years since I'd read or listened to one of Me Cornwell's book an I immediately was reminded why I love his work. I hope Uhtred lives forever!

A fine finish

The story by the end seemed far fetched that Uhtred still lived, but the story is good enough to look past.
While Matt Bates never was as good as the original narrator, he does a fine job and I cannot complain about him.
Overall this series is a great read/listen that will take me some time to replace. Bravo Mr. Cornwell

Uhtred/FINAN

One of the things I like about the continued series is the comradeship and banter between Uhtred & FINAN!
Also Uhtred isn’t infallible he does make human mistakes ‼️🇺🇸🇺🇸🌹🌹

Best book yet?

Outstanding performance, amazing writing, gripping story. As always Cornwall throws you into Dark Age England in such an amazing way you can almost smell the stink of the fires, the stink of London, and the stink of death.

Yet another great story

Another great story by Cornwell. This story however, starts the build up towards Uhtred getting older and his possible demise. If you have been an avid reader of Uhtred and his warriors, that is the last thing you want to hear! Looking forward to the next one regardless.

Different from the others

I can’t quite distinguish the difference but this book left me feeling like something was off. Almost as if it was a plug and play from different parts of his other books along a new storyline. It’s still a great story it just didn’t flow magically like the others have.
