The cherry blossoms are in full bloom in Washington, D.C., and the Calhouns are in the midst of hosting their annual party to celebrate the best of the spring season. Never ending plot twists!

Such a great listen, finished in two days. Characters development, twists and turns, scandal, murder… has a bit of everything!

Detailed descriptions of the characters

I liked the descriptions of the house, wealth, party, etc. it kept me guessing until the very end.

Complex Characters and Easter Egg Details!

I’ve read several books where the cast of characters were one too many killing the story. NOT THE CASE HERE! Each character offers such a rich and complex picture for developing the story, motivations? And the interactions between each other. I also enjoyed all the tidbits or Easter egg details that are used to tie up the ending of a perfectly horrific criminal plot!!

This narrator is not good

It took me a long time to get into the story, but I didn’t really care for it even though I listened my way through, but it was a struggle. The narrator had this voice that was dramatic the whole way through and just over the top. I would not recommend this.

Enjoyed the story very much, even though it was very improbable

I was not disappointed in this book, and though it was very improbable, but you never know truth can be stranger than fiction. It was very entertaining.

the narration was a bit much. loud. overacting, imho. like a theatre kid on crack.

Great character development

I read a lot of books as well as listening to them on audible. This author is great at character development.

Great Read

I really enjoyed listening to this book! So much so that I finished it in two days! The characters were interesting and well developed through the book. While there was no shocking twist, the author divulged smaller surprises throughout that kept me guessing! I loved this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

Pretty good

Was a little slow in the beginning but picked up towards end. Good story & twists overall. Only thing that totally turned me off was the kid. Kids whiney voice & bratty behavior annoyed me enough to leave a comment

So Good!

I loved it. The writing was excellent and the characters were incredible. Just shy of over the top. There’s nothing like family dysfunction to get things all chaotic and old/new resentments to explode. I absolutely recommend listening to this audio.

Narration was really good. Whitney Dykhouse was able to capture each of the characters personalities and portray them in their own unique voice.
