Publisher's summary

I'm SO over that gorgeous, scary, heartbreaking man who hates my guts.
I'm just counting on him to save my life.

Never, ever fall for your brother's hot older friend.
I flunked the test the instant I laid eyes on Landon Strauss.
Tall. Ripped. Commanding. Irresistibly alpha.
He gave a damn like no one else did.
His soul-searing eyes saw me, not just a nerd girl next door.
I had my idol, my destiny, and names for our future kids picked.

Then I read Landon's little black book.
One nosy peek exposed the shock of a lifetime.
His confession. His pain. His plan.
The sweet boy I loved was gone.
Hero-turned-villain-turned-bad-memory overnight.

Five years later, an insane slip of fate puts us under the same roof.
Sweet closure, I think.
I almost forget he hates me.
I almost think we'll talk like normal adults.
I don't expect the shirtless behemoth who comes barreling through my door.
Landon's grown up. All snarls, testosterone, and lethal chemistry.
We're in trouble, he says.
Oh, Landon. Oh, baby, don't I know it?

From Wall Street Journal best-selling author Nicole Snow - a tale of two hearts torn, stomped, and dragged through the mud. An uber-alpha protector bent on reclaiming his nerd next door. Full length romance novel with a Happily Ever After worth a "hell yeah".

Still not over you: ok minus book

I loved the narration.
This is the first book of N. S. that I rate as less than 4 stars.
It is a shallow story, not that intriguing and the sex scenes are too long and boring.
If it was the author's 1st novel I read, I probably wouldn't have read more of her books (luckily this is not the case).
I am sorry for writing a negative review, but I believe in being honest. .

Fantastic!!

I have had this book for awhile now, but never seemed to have time to read it. Then I was browsing Audible Escape and found it. OMG, I can't believe I have waited so long to read it. It is absolutely amazing. It's a friends to lover romance with a big side of suspense and steamy scenes. Rose Dioro and Joseph Discher were spectacular narrators too. I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the series.

Not my favorite, logic much?

I really enjoyed Nicole Snows Marriage Mistake books so decided to listen to more of her stories. Seems like this author is a little hit and miss. This story was ok, but extra people in the background of scenes of people not directly involved in the story are treated like cardboard cutouts. No reactions when events occur, for example, the fire department comes to put out a fire but don’t notice the left over can of gasoline laying on the ground. They decide the fire was caused by “brush” close to the house, but the brush was cut and placed there then stared with gasoline. Any “real” fireman “ could tell that was purposely set and that it’s not brush overgrowth. Clearly you have never dealt with a fire investigator, those guys are like a dog with a bone.

There are a number of logical mis steps throughout the book, by the characters, by oddly behaving background characters, rather long chunks of time where there is a lot of “thinking” but nobody reacts. The story progresses with characters drawing some rather non-logical conclusions.

- How did the bad guy know the house codes?
- How did the lady rock star get into the house?
- Why would you want a job where you were being sexually harassed when a sexual harassment lawsuit would be so much better?
- Why don’t they freak out when a bunch of different people seem to have access to the house?
- Isn’t this guy a “security expert”?
- Didn’t the rock star get on an airplane? How can she be at the house?
- where did the rock star go when the characters left? He “locked up” the house, but she was still in there?
- Why would you leave a used condom in your brothers back yard? I wouldn’t.
- Nobody who lives on a Northern California beach goes swimming, it isn’t like Southern California at all. You would need a wet suit. You also can’t do much “swimming” in an intertidal zone.
-Sausalito, Ca really isn’t a “beach access” community.
- how can you walk down an empty hallway and not notice your unconscious girlfriend until you step on her?
- the girlfriend immediately succumbs to the poison but the rock star walks around for like a half an hour before she is affected?
- strichnine poison is treated with “medicine”? Maybe a stomach pump?
- a “low dose” won’t be noticed? Aren’t their lips blue and they are unconscious? Isn’t that noticeable?
- where did the bad guy get all this poison?

If you listen to this book I am sure you will find more, these are just a few questions that the story does not take care of or resolve. Maybe a rewrite could fix up some of this stuff.

Heroine is annoying

The heroine is too stupid to love. Sorry but I couldn’t finish the story because I don’t like foolish people. Hero was wonderful and full of interest. I wanted to like this book because the story line sounded promising but couldn’t take any more idiocies of the female Lucille Ball.

MONOLOGING

The story might have had hopes of being somewhat interesting if you did see the end in the first chapter. The writer also would have been better using actual dialog instead of monologing whole chapters with maybe only a few sentences spoken. example.: At the end of the book during the so called "wedding night" the WHOLE chapter is about what HE'S FEELING. Not one word about her or what shes feeling. I thought maybe he might be screwing a blow up doll but then no.. she did speak ..if the few words could be called that. Had to go back and look to see if the book was written by a guy. Two stars for the performance. It wasnt their fault the book was horrid.

Worst book ever

Wow. Cant believe someone got paid for this book. I’d read another book by same author - this was horrible. Lamest plot, characters and detail. The lead characters start with five years of heartbreak and hate- over one reading the others journal. I mean seriously . Hate. Angst and hate over the lamest thing you could write about. And it’s downhill from there. Save your money and skip this one

Super slow

Very poor narration. Storyline was boring, but to the narration may have contributed to that impression.

Good book

This book started off not well for me as I really didn't like the characters, but after a few chapters in the story got much better and am glad I saw it through.

It has potential

Fell asleep a few times while listening to this book. It has potential and could have been delivered better.
