Publisher's Summary

He never bothered with hello. The shrieking hot stranger had me dizzy the instant he said we're engaged. Then he chased off the bully on our heels and dragged me back to his place for the night.

Pure insanity, right?

Wrong. You don't let pride do the talking when you're homeless, on the run, and hauling around your sick father in a truck so old it must've been on Noah's Ark. You definitely don't complain when Ridge Barnet takes charge. (In)famous heartthrob. Stinking rich. Fed up owner of one angry rooster. Eyes set to permanent storm.

Of course, it doesn't end there. My unexpected Romeo doubles down on this ridiculous "fake fiancee" rescue scheme. One blazing kiss shatters worlds. I'm swept up in a small-town fairy tale, wishing I hadn't lost my faith in wishes years ago.

He's saving my life. Hero and done. Nothing more. Prince Charmings don't really marry pumpkin farmers from Wisconsin. Give me strength. Tell me his gaze doesn't scream obsession. Save me from his oh-so-believable growls. Help me believe our little arrangement never, ever ends in "I do".

Contains mature themes.

Nice love story

Very well written story. Great characters. Nice romance. Great narration.

Main female characters dad made some poor life choices. On the run with no where to go they are given a place to stay by a Hollywood actor with his own issues to overcome.

Very nice story.

If it matters there is not a lot of cursing but the use of the f-bomber is used in sex scene with plenty of hot sex. If you like Nicole Snow reads you will not be disappointed. If you love HEA romances you will enjoy.

Ridge and Grace

The things I loved about this story, are the characters and the supporting characters, and the story itself. Nicole always does a great job in her writing. The only thing that would have been better is the female Narrator and that is why I only gave 3 stars on performance. unfortunately Heather sounded like a frog and annoying and her male voice was not even close to Tor, and it sounded really robotic which took away from the story. Not to be insulting to Heather, it just wasn't a fit.

I didn't love the narration

The story was good. A bit unrealistic but we don't read romance for a dose of reality, right?
Grace and her dad are going West during a winter storm. They are running from some bad men that her dad became involved with. One of the things tracked them to a bar in the middle of nowhere in the blizzard where she was saved by a Hollywood actor who coincidentally also used to be special forces in the military with a lot of connections. He saves Grace and her dad from themselves and the bad guys. HEA.
While Heather Costa's narration was okay there was a cadence to Your Thom's voice that I could have done without.
Still a good book but not my favorite.

Who put Heather Costa on fast forward?

I like the written story and have read it already. I started to listen to this and it truly was awful. Heather Costa is put on fast forward until she sounds like a munchkin from Wizard of Oz, but Tor Thom is deep and slow. I tried slowing the replay to .80 and it sounds awful. Costa still sounds chipmunk like and Thom is toooo slooww. It is really too bad because I liked the written book.

A lot of words to get nowhere at all

I feel bad the other reviews are so good and I didnt like it! But I just didnt. And I listen to a LOT of romance audiobooks - my standards are not too high. This book was longgg - and they spent so much time talking about stupid stuff, and glossed over big stuff pretty quickly in comparison. I felt like the author was trying to tie into other characters from different books way more than necessary. AND spent SO much time talking about her decorating, like going into detail about these stupid barnwood picture holder things the h made. And the guy going on about how talented she was for putting some horseshoes up on the wall. And some old antique she wrote "welcome" on. And the H going on and on about how talented she was for doing so. Straight out of the farmhouse aisles of hobby lobby, and very, very cringe-y.

I liked the premise, and thought if done better - maybe less details and more thought and time put into the main points it could have been better. But the romance was a miss for me. There was very little meaningful interaction between the two. I did not understand why they were in love outside of both thinking the other is hot. Overall it felt very superficial. Also - in case you're a dirty bird like me, they didnt have sex until over halfway through the book (over 6 hours of listening before anything happened!) and at that point I just didn't feel enough chemistry between them to care much. Notice I didn't use the main characters names in this review - I finished the book yesterday and literally don't remember their names already.

This book didn't do it for me 😱

I love some of Nicole Snow's books, but this story didn't do it for me. Very predictable. There is always crime, damsel in distress and the guy rescues here. He says i love you first yada yada yada. The story went on and on and on. I ended up skipping to the predictable end. Not sure i will listen to another book by this author. You read one book, you've read them all.

I could not get over how the dad was made to sound like EEyore....

Over the top corner... vomit worthy scenes, the over the top lovey dovey lines ruins some scenes...
