Gil Ribeiro alias Holger Karsten Schmidt ist eigentlich ein erfolgreicher deutscher Krimi-Drehbuchautor, der schon mehrfach für den Adolf-Grimme-Preis nominiert war. Seiner Liebe zu Portugal und insbesondere zu dem kleinen Örtchen Fuseta ist es zu verdanken, dass der etwas schräge Hamburger Kommissar Leander Lost seinen Weg an die Algarve gefunden hat. Nachdem der Polizist mit Asperger-Syndrom gemeinsam mit seinen portugiesischen Kollegen den ersten Fall erfolgreich lösen konnte, darf er nun weiter ermitteln. Dieses Mal macht ein Mordfall den Anfang. Der Fall ist brisant, denn das Opfer ist eine Kollegin von Leander Lost, Graciana Rosado und Carlos Estevez. Lost macht sich mit Eifer auf die Suche nach dem Mörder - zumal er mit der Tochter der Ermordeten eine geistige Verbindung spürt, denn diese hat eine ähnlich verschrobene Sicht auf die Dinge wie er. Story
