Publisher's Summary

"My earliest memory is of discovering my grandfather's severed head."

The Headless Horseman has risen and rides. Jason Crane is the Horseman's target. But Jason must stay and fight, to protect those he loves. For Sleepy Hollow is falling to evil. Now Jason Crane lives under a tyrannical guardian. Jason Crane must descend into fearful darkness. And Jason Crane has an appointment with death... at the Bridge of Bones. This exciting sequel to 2013's Rise Headless and Ride brings back Jason Crane, descendant of Ichabod of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow - as well as his friends Joey, Kate, and Zef - to face off against the ancient evil of the Van Brunt family. Impeccably researched, with an epic scope and a huge cast of characters, Bridge of Bones brings the weird gothic world of Sleepy Hollow to vibrant life in a way not seen since Irving's original: with fidelity to the real modern town and its history. Bridge of Bones is an imaginative tour de force spanning centuries, and a Halloween treat not to be missed.

Even better than the first!

This book is amazing. It's even better than the first one, which was fantastic! The story really gets cooking in this installment. It grabs you and doesn't let go!
I'm really loving this series because it involves ghosts, supernatural powers, and history. The horror aspects are well done and suitably creepy. Even a little gruesome at times! The characters are well developed and interesting. The writing is wonderful and has plenty of humor to offset the horror. I laughed out loud in my car multiple times! Just a fantastic book.
The reader is just amazing. His voices for each character are distinct and enjoyable to listen to. It's just a treat to listen to this book.
I lucked out at finished this book the day I got a new Audible credit! The third one is an instant purchase.

Love it

Very capturing and interesting. I had a hard time stopping between for breaks ;), but have to admit that I found the end rather sudden. Which does not influence at all my all over impression of this audio book though - I am glad, I was able to listen to it, absolute awesome performance.

In one word: phenomenal

I finished Bridge of Bones last night. Throughout the book I caught myself laughing, shouting, and crying for fictional characters. It has been a very long time since I’ve read anything that has made me care so much for the characters and the story within the pages of this book. Getting to listen to this book (and the first one, Rise Headless and Ride) were among the highlights of 2020 for me. I have always wanted to visit Sleepy Hollow, NY , and by listening to this story’s description of the town, I feel like I have been there. Mr. Gleaves, thank you. I am so happy that I stumbled onto this series and will start book 3 (General of the Dead) tonight !

Absolutely love!!!!

Every year, beginning September first, I celebrate Autumn early. One of the first things I do to celebrate my favorite season is to watch every version of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow that I can get my hands on. A few years ago, I found the first book in this series, hoping I'd have something entertaining and spooky to listen to during my way to/from work. But it ended up being SO much more than that. I started listening to it at home while I baked ridiculous amounts of apple and pumpkin desserta, I listened to it while I cleaned, took my bath, when I was sad and need something to pull me from my misery..... And this second book was even better than the first! And the narrator has PERFECT timing in his performance. The funny stuff, the scary stuff, the anger, the hope.... he conveyed all of that perfectly. Please keep writing Mr. Gleaves. And Mrs. Summerer, please keep narrating. It's hard to please me when it comes to spooky stories, especially in regard to the Sleepy Hollow Legend. But this went beyond my expectations!

Love this series.

Love this series because you become invested in the main characters. One wants to know more about each and every character. So glad that I began reading the series after all the books were written , this way, I was able to binge read the series.

Good story

The narrator for this book was excellent, using several voices and inflections so that different voices can be recognized. The story was good, but ended in a way that was disappointing. Several situations were never resolved in the ending, although most of the story did have a happy ending for most characters.

This series is like a 3 act play drawn out to 30

Book 2 is actually better than the 1st, but I still don't care how the series ends. The dialogue is a tiny bit better than the 1st book and there is a little more action... I think. The book is so drawn out that the 20 hours felt like it got across about 2 hours worth of story which is made worse by how predictable the story is. By the end I didn't give a damn what happens to the characters that I've now invested 33+ hours to. As far as I'm concerned with the cliffhanger ending, it can let go and fall to its death. I guess he leaves the story unresolved just to draw you into the next book. No thanks.
