Publisher's summary

In the follow-up to the acclaimed series debut The Missing American, PI Emma Djan investigates the death of a Ghanaian fashion icon and social media celebrity, Lady Araba.

Hard-hitting talk-show host Augustus Seeza has become a household name in Ghana, though notorious for his lavish overspending, alcoholism, and womanizing. He's dating the imposing, beautiful Lady Araba, who leads a self-made fashion empire. Fearing Augustus is only after her money, Araba's religious family intervenes to break them up. A few days later, just before a major runway show, Araba is found murdered in her bed. Her driver is arrested after a hasty investigation, but Araba's favorite aunt, Dele, suspects Augustus Seeza was the real killer.

Almost a year later, Dele approaches Emma Djan, who has finally started to settle in as the only female PI at her agency. To solve Lady Araba's murder, Emma must not only go on an undercover mission that dredges up trauma from her past, but navigate a long list of suspects with strong motives. Emma quickly discovers that they are all willing to lie for each other - and that one may still be willing to kill.

Excellent

Wonderful new detective series set in Ghana, which makes it unlike any of the American or European stories in unique, cultural ways. I hope there are more and that Robin Miles continues to read them! She’s just perfect.

An interesting story

This murder mystery had many suspects who had motives and opportunities to commit the murder. It was interesting how the murder was solved.
The overall performance by the narrator was good. I am looking forward to reading another works by Kewi Quartey.

An ambitious twist and turn mystery

Very enjoyable and challenging thanks to the excellent performer. Many characters but the main characters and some minor characters are memorable.
The cultural details are always a treat.
This is now one of my favorites in this wonderful series.

Great second act for Emma Djan

A very good story that leaves you guessing to the end on a couple of goods suspects. It took abit to keep story straight with the zig zag time line. The finish is a bit underwhelming ... but maybe thats how real crimes feel when solved. The descriptions and characters make me what to visit Ghana soon. I still miss Darko, but Ms Djan and her mates made for a nice summer tale.
