Publisher's Summary
Ride along on this endearing road-trip rom-com from Audie Award nominee Cara Bastone - scripted exclusively for audio!
I have exactly 5 hours and 10 minutes to get from Boston to New York City or the professional opportunity of a lifetime disappears. My only travel option? The second to last seat on a discount bus. Across from the bathroom. Wearing last night’s clothes (don’t ask). All worth it if I can make it in time.
My nerves almost get the best of me, but then there he is, sitting down in the seat next to me. Tall. Friendly smile. Bright indigo streak in his brown hair. The perfect distraction. Turns out he’s on his way to reconnect with an old flame. The one who got away. We can both make it on time - just barely - if the traffic keeps flowing.
Playing road-trip games, avoiding calls from his mother, and effortless conversation keeps us from clockwatching...until the bus breaks down. And my seatmate turns into my copilot as we wrangle a ride in a car three decades old. And hit all the traffic. And oh, Lord, the detours. And somehow I end up careening cross-town on the handlebars of a Citi Bike carrying a box of kittens. (Yeah, don’t ask.)
He’s my hero every step of the way...and I might be falling for him. But what happens when we reach our final destination? Could my seatmate really be my soul mate?

He's a billionaire heir. A grump supreme. Hater of people. Bigger hater of peopling with people. And my new fake boyfriend. "Emotionally unavailable" doesn’t even begin to describe Hayes Rutherford. He has more defenses than a nuclear missile silo. And he’s the ultimate catch of the century. At least, according to his bank statement. My job’s simple: Keep all interested ladies away from the walled-off heir, by pretending to be his one true love. Imagine a 1980s world of sumptuous hotel rooms, restaurants, New York City penthouses, and the powerful men who move easily between these pinnacles of luxury. They are music producers, rock stars, writers, and restaurateurs. They are household names like Billy Joel, Art Garfunkel, Eric Clapton, and Sting. And yet, each man has an entire aspect to his life that he doesn’t talk about publicly—his depression, his rocky marriage, his feelings of shame and failure, his private loss of faith. And now: The phone rings. Imagine the woman who has each of these men at her beck and call.

Reasons why I should not be drawn to Troy Serrano. Number one: He’s obnoxious. Number two: We were enemies more than a decade ago. Number three: He’s my friend’s ex-boyfriend. I could go on and on, really. When my boss gives me an unwanted assignment, and tells me it involves spending time with the grandson of one of our residents, the grandson turns out to be Troy. Lucky me. Four hours a week of having to deal with his insufferable personality and unsolicited advice - the only consolation is getting to stare at his annoyingly gorgeous face, in between our many arguments.

Loved it!!!!
This book was so great. I’ve loved the other books Cara Bastone has written so I was so excited to listen to this one. These books are such unique audiobooks and are just so fun to listen to.
Gwen and Sam were adorable and had so much chemistry from the get go. I loved how they joked together and made the best of all of the ridiculous situations. Their entire journey had me cracking up and swooning all at the same time.
Zachary Webber is a favorite narrator of mine and as usual he delivers the perfect performance. I’ve never listened to Amanda Ronconi, but I definitely will in the future. That girl PERFORMS. She was absolutely excellent. All of the other performers did a great job, too. I can honestly say everyone was cast perfectly.
I 1000% recommend this book, especially if you loved her others!

Damn you Cara Bastone, damn you!
as with the previous two in the series I finished this one with a little giggle and a bit of a sniffle. This book was as fun and sweet as they get and I love you for it Ms. Bastone! The characters had a fun filled adventure of a day while getting to know each-other in a way i can relate with (oh the joys of traveling on a cramped bus). I really do hope there is more to this collection of Love Lines and maybe, Just maybe, Loma will get her own story <3

All around perfection!
I have been waiting for the series to continue. Call Me Maybe was my favorite...until now. Seat Mate was such a cute story without being super cheesy. Actually felt like listening to a real conversation. Completely organic. Not so much internal dialogue like the other 2. Not better or worse just different. Love the characters and narration was exactly what was needed. I mean Hello Zachary Webber....need I say more. But all narrators were so great. The friend was hilarious. Just like the other 2 book the story is too good you want it to continue. If I could pick 1, I would want this storyline to have a follow up. Must listen if you want to just enjoy a good story.

I didn’t expect that I would be so enamored by this story, but the narration really drew me in. I was able to relate to both their characters and was charmed by both as well. The whole scenario was very believable and had fun twists and turns, and lots of awkward moments, just like real life!

Such a fun listen!
It was fun to listen to the evolution of their friendship and adventures for the day.(even though a bit over the top events sometimes).
Just two somewhat regular people developing a connection. No billionaire, or steamy sex scenes, but great chemistry that was enjoyable.

So. Much. Fun!
I loved this listen! I've enjoyed Cara Bastone's other audible books as well, but I think this is my favorite. The main reason is because Zachary Webber and Amanda Ronconi seemed to be having so much fun with the narration. I listen while driving, and I drove down the road with a smile on my face through the whole story. A definite winner.

Lovely surprise!
A friend recommended this one, so I gave it a go. While this is a new to me author, I was swayed to try it because I love Zachary Webber. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this! Webber was charming as always but I really loved Amanda Ronconi as Gwen. She is a new to me narrator and I loved her here so will definitely look for more of her. Bastone crafted a really vivid, sweet, fun, and flirty story. I loved Gwen and Sam and the believable way their connection grew. I enjoyed Bastone's work so much, I'm planning to listen to the rest of the series. Just a really funny and sweet surprise! Highly recommended!

Cute
Easy to listen to. Free. Neither the dialogue, characters, story nor narration is annoying.

comfort in an audio
Just what I needed. it is a great, comforting story. Simple, predictable for the most part, but just a great way to fill a few hours. I really enjoyed listening to it. Great narrators too. I will look for more by this author.

refreshing
not bad. cute story. I liked it. It was not an "on the edge of your seat" kind of story.

Adorable
I’m obsessed with your books Cara, they are so sweet. And it’s presented so well! It’s like watching a movie.

I tried…
I really wanted to like this. It had a sense of an old time radio play format which appealed to me but just didn’t work. Even Zachary Webber could not lift this up with his, as usual, excellent narration. The story is not that interesting to start with and quickly becomes irritating as it is so predictable.

Fun and flirty
Wasn't sure I was going to find their connection believable, but resolution was satisfying. This story is not groundbreaking but it me smile many times and that was what I was after, so no real complaints.

Loved!!!
Absolutely loved the story and the characters. I love Amanda Ronconi so was thrilled ti hear she was one of the narrators. Listened to all 3 of the books in this series in 3 days. Now I’m about to start the other series she has on here.

Very entertaining
A really fun light hearted story! It’s performed mostly in the style of a play. Much more entertaining than a normal audiobook. I highly recommend it.
