Uneven performance but good story

I purchased this audiobook because I am a Zachary Weber fan but was disappointed at how little eas his part in the performance. I wished he had narrated the entire book. Good story and captivating plot

If you have read The Paper Swan, i would say, you NEED to listen to the Audio version on this book. The emotions of Both characters, Skye and Damian are delivered to us in this audio book with 100% authenticity.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Damian. I tend to favor the Male character, whether he is a villain or good buy in every book i read/listen to. Damian was no different. He experienced turmoil in his young life and overcame these obstacles to become a strong man.

Which character – as performed by Shirl Rae and Zachary Webber – was your favorite?

Of course, Damian was to a T. I did enjoy the performance by Shirl Rae as Skye as well. She showed the perfect amount of emotion and sarcasm when needed. Excellent performance!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Childhood friends become Enemies, turn lovers

I really have not read another story like it, so I would have to say none.

Yes and I really like Zachary Webber's voice. I just feel like I could have gotten a little more out of this book if I read it.

This book made me cry at times

Excellent Story!!

This book was great!! A story that captured my full attention from start to finish!! A love story that will capture your heart!!!

so many twists and turns and a great story

This was another awesome read by the talented Leylah Attar. I’m slowly becoming a fan of her and her writing. I loved the plot, I loved the idea behind it, I loved the way she managed to convey her simple truths, I loved the little and big twists in this one, and I loved the final result as a whole. Period.

The beginning was so intense, so strong and breath-taking that I was turning the pages like a mad woman trying to figure out what was happening. And then when I thought I figured something out – BAM! A plot twist that completely took me by surprise. I do enjoy such moments in books when you don’t see things coming and they are so well thought you stare in the distance for a while amazed by the author’s thinking.

Then the story took a completely different direction. There were painful flashbacks to the past and there were so many emotions behind it. There was this story about revenge and rage so overwhelming that it swallowed you whole. It kind of reminded me at one point of The Count of Monte Cristo, but it was like a romantic, modern version of it.

Then there were scenes so beautiful and heartwarming that completely took my breath away. And after that, the inevitable happened and things changed and although I kind of guessed the ending it still felt so packed with emotions and I enjoyed every second of it.

The true power of Leylah Attar’s stories is her unique way with words and how she puts simple life truths into a story which is so powerful and magical that seems in a way real and believable. Another beautiful book that had it all – from drama to action, to intense breath-taking moments, to sweet, heart-melting scenes and pictures, to funny banter and steamy sex…The total package wrapped up in one story. Priceless <3 And the narration was the cherry on the cake with this story. Amazing. Awesome job and a great way to experience this book <3

Good but, predictable

It started off great but I felt like I was way ahead of the author when it came to the plot twists.. also it’s pronounced Güerita (gwerita) I think the authors should do a better job at selecting Latin narrator’s or at least narrators that know how to pronounce Spanish words properly when incorporating the Latin culture to their stories. I think Zachary Webber is an incredible narrator but this one wasn’t his best performance and the female narrator was just.. no.

Epically, amazing book!! BEST READ EVER!

This is the first time I have read/listened to a book by this author. In my opinion she is talented. She weaves a story around two childhood friends who embark on a bitter, sweet, loving, vengeful journey coping with what life throws at them.

From the first paragraph you are drawn into the idyllic life of two children. One wealthy, one a son of the hired help. Circumstances bring tragedy and the brutal life begins.
The trusting naive children who love each other learn that life is not fair and is very hard. This is a gritty, gripping tale that is not for the faint of heart. No spoilers but eventually there is a happily ever after..... but only after suffering, plot twists and anguish for all parties involved.

I highly recommend this story. It is one of the best reads I have had the pleasure of coming into contact with in the last two years. Narration performance is also stellar. The author has a clear idea of the story to go and her character development/plot/twists have you on an emotional roller coaster.

If you want feel good read this is not the book for you. My emotions ran the gambit of happy, anguished, horrified ... teary eyed .

This read was beyond credit worthy! Certainly worth buying. Credit/Buy/Sale .

Too unbelievable!!

This book was to drawn out and unbelievable. I just don’t buy how anyone could and would do almost everything by both characters
