Publisher's Summary

The final installment of what happens when a miraculous cure ends up destroying the entire world.

When Dr. Everett Berning's discovery of a permanent cure for drug addiction fell into the hands of Benito San Nicholas, head of the Alvarado cartel in El Salvador - the end result was the dead took over the world.

In less than 48 hours, narcotics tainted with fungal spores are deployed around the globe and mankind's existence hangs in the balance. Nowhere is safe as the death toll mounts and the reanimated corpses aren't the only threat.

The remaining members of Project Rememdium and the small contingent of survivors from Arkansas band together. The decision is made to flee to a safer location, yet Teresa Alvarado had other intentions. Once in the air, hell-bent on finding Benito San Nicholas and killing him for what he's done, Teresa Alvarado forced the pilot to take them to her native El Salvador.

Will Teresa's own personal vendetta actually offer hope to Dr. Berning and the rest of the world?

Or will the dangerous jungles of El Salvador be the place where all hope is lost and they take their final breaths?

Worth the wait!!

This picks up from where book 3 ended so the flow of the book was seamless!! Teresa Alvarado accosted the plane and had them go to El Salvador. The rest of the survivours are playing along until they get to the compound she told them she had. They really have no choice because they've no where else to go anyway!! On arriving at the compound there's a few surprises for the group and they are rocked to their core when some truths come to light.

The author has created a winner with this series! When I first started the series when it was first released, I devoured each installment as they came. At one time I thought we wouldn't get a book 4 or a conclusion, and I was thrilled when I say that she was finishing the series because there was a lot left unanswered in the last book. It made me both nervous and excited for this one!!

But this was worth the wait! The answers to the questions we had were truly surprising and not something that entered my mind during the first 3! This is where the author excels!! She knows how to throw a curve ball into her stories and always keeps people guessing. You may think you know where the story is heading, but you don't!!!

In all, book 4 is a worthy ending to the series! Not all the characters we've grown to love will make it, but that adds authenticity to the story. It's well written and developed and I absolutely loved it!! The author knows how to tell a compelling tale and I urge everyone to try the series!

Rebecca Roberts was amazing!! That woman knows how to narrate....wow. Her tones and cadences really amped up the tension and the sheer amount of voices and accents she used for the characters was phenomenal!! Brilliant performance.

A Twilight Zone Twist at the end

Wow, this has been one heck of a ride. If you have been with the series since book one (and if you haven't go back and get the other books, I'll wait here. You'll appreciate it) then you know that the world has suffered a Drugpocalypse that resulted in addled zombies feasting on the flesh of the living. This came about because human greed is greater than our survival instinct. A cure for addiciton was found, and dealers decided to corrupt the cure so that they could get their business back. That taint resulted in zombies.

So far, we have followed sets of survivors who are struggling to stay alive long enough to discover a cure for the infestation that is over running the world. On the way they have had to deal with just about every type of jerk and villain you can think of, as well as dealing with the undead. Best part was, no one was safe, favorites died and jerkwads thrived. The blood and gore flew, as did the time it took to read these books. It has been an incredible ride. So fun, but over to fast. I do applaud Fontainne for ending the series. Too often, a writer will just keep a series going for the profits. Not here. There is a very clear and defined ending. One with a twist that makes me think of that Twilight Zone Episode where Burgess Merideth survives a holocaust and finally has all th time in the world to read, and thn breaks his glasses. Yeah, that kind of a pyrrhic ending. Still loved it. Roberts has done a bang up job on the narration since the start of this series and has carried it through like a champ. She really breathed life into the characters.

Read the whole series. It is a brilliant and new kind of take on the zombie genre.

Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

Ashley Fontainne is amazing!!!

What a beautiful creation a truly masterpiece.
Just like any great series you wish it could continue but that's life and it had to end.
The best thing about a story is the surprises, the twists that you don't see coming and in this series there are quite a few especially in this last book beautifully done and perfectly executed, my hat off for you Ashley you are a great author, one of a kind !!!
Narration was also done perfectly so I truly have nothing bad to write in this review.

Great post-apocalyptic series!

This is book 4 in The Rememdium Series. I highly recommend enjoying the rest of the series first. Ashley Fontainne starts the series out before the outbreak happens. No surprise here, but man caused it all. Our own greed caused our downfall. Drugs tainted with a fungal infection infected anyone who used it, killing them and reanimating them into zombies. Even worse, the infection has crossed species infecting animals as well. In this book, they finally manage to find a cure, only for it to be destroyed by greed once again. The whole series if full of zombie action! It's an excellent series that's a bit different from others I've enjoyed. Rebecca Roberts does a wonderful job with the narration. The voices and accents were perfect!

Another good book in the series!

This was the 4th good audio book in this series. I enjoyed each and every one. I was afraid that I wouldn't remember enough of book 3 to get into this, but the author did a good job of reminding me of each character and their history. I received this for free for an honest review.

Great ending to a great series!

The ending of the start of the apocalypse is upon us and Ashley Fontainne once again out does herself. At first, when I started book 4, I kept thinking that I should have gone back and listened to the 1st 3 books again so I could remember the characters. However, she does a fantastic job of reminding us of who everyone is. You really do need to read the entire series, though, since each book really do not stand on their own. (I'm still going to go back and listen to them all back to back...because they are just THAT good)
Ashley brings it all together when she explains the role of each person (ourselves) and their individual responsibility as a person of society, but, also the HUGE role of the government. Makes me stop and take a hard look at the reality we are living in. Can we do anything about it? Probably not, but at least we can go into things with our eyes wide open, scary as it can be. The ending...well...was perfect. There were sacrifices made that were good sacrifices. And, in the end, the relationships that survived were good ones. Some wrongs were made right and that is all we can ask for.
As I said, I listened to the audio book version of this, and all of this series, books. Rebecca Roberts is undoubtedly one of the best narrators out there. She has a way of drawing you in and make you forget you are being read to, but are actually a part of the story in a 'fly on the wall' kind of way. Her character voices are right on for both the male and the female voices and she brings the story to life when you can feel the fear, the anger, the disgust and the love. That is a true talent few narrators have.
All in all, I recommend this book, this series, this author (you should read all of her books!) and this narrator (she is ALWAYS this good!).

Verry sad but true

Would you listen to Tainted World again? Why?

No because I almost never reread or relisten

What did you like best about this story?

The failure of the government sceme

What does Rebecca Roberts bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She brings emotion and excitement to her characters

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and though there was a few minute break it was one day's listen

Any additional comments?

This book was provided free of charge in exchange for a review.

This book was packed with excitement and some sadness. As in all books people tend to die this book removed some of the characters I had become associated with.

The situation described was all too realistic a possibility and the result of drug addiction was all to prevalent. The involvement of government in allowing it was explored in a very good way and while this may seem like a conspiracy theory it is described in an all too realistic way.

I enjoyed the entire series of books and thought it was well done.

The narrator was top notch and did a fantastic job of performing the various characters with emotion and was realistic.

Tainted World

I admit I was floored at the end of book 3 when crazy Theresa (sp?) hijacked the plane and made everyone go to El Salvador. I didn't know how the author was going to resolve the situation. She did a really good job of wrapping up the series. If the author does another zombie apocalypse series, I will definitely read/listen it. I laughed, cried, and held on for dear life throughout this series. Well done. I received this audio book for free through Audiobook Boom for my unbiased review.
