Publisher's summary

2329: Now a diplomat for the United Federation of Planets, Spock agrees to a bonding with Commander Saavik. More than a betrothal, less than a wedding, the sacred Vulcan rite is attended by both Spock's father Sarek and a nervous young Starfleet lieutenant named Jean-Luc Picard. 2344: Ambassador Spock receives a top-secret communication from the heart of the Romulan Empire. Decades before, Spock had met and betrayed an honorable Romulan commander during the so-called "Enterprise incident." Now she needs his help to prevent a catastrophe that could threaten the peace of the entire quadrant. Spock risks everything by traveling incognito to Romulus itself, but his covert mission becomes even more perilous when Saavik crosses the Neutral Zone to rescue him. Enmeshed in the treacherous political intrigues of the Romulan capital, undone by a fire that grows ever hotter within his blood, Spock must use all of his logic and experience to survive a crisis that will ultimately determine the fate of empires

missing content from the book.

I enjoyed the story, but the editing removed to much content. I believe that took away from the over all plot line.

Highly entertaining fabulous narration

Tim Russ (Voyager's Tuvok) does an incredible job brings the story to a new level. Unfortunately this is abridged but still worth it! One of the better of the abridged Trek on audible. Im looking forward to other books by the authors and hopefully Tim Russ is brought back for future Trek Audible books

Tim Russ

I would pay to listen to Tim Russ read the phone book. I have seen ALL Star Trek multiple times, and read nearly all of it, including fan-fic both written and video. There are only three actors who know how to play a Vulcan and Tim Russ is one of them. I wish he would read more Audible, especially science fiction and Star Trek, but really anything would be better, read by him. He is the best! I even have him singing a Vulcan ballad to children, in my iTunes library. :)

A Great Stat Trek Novel

This is a great story that shows the events before Captain Picard's Command of the Enterprise-D and about Spoke's betrothal to Commander Savik.

Great story

Love this store. I didn’t realize I purchased the adapted version. Still great. In depth character development and a look into some of my favorite characters! Tim Russ is a spectacular narrator

Not bad at all.

The story was well written and I enjoyed learn about Spock and how he interacted with the Romulans. I would have liked the book to have been longer, but it was a good read. The narration was very well done.

Loved this book!

Where does Star Trek rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Number one among all the audiobooks and leadership books I've listened to while traveling to work and across country.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Spock was my favorite character on Star Trek and continues to be a character that everyone is curious about no matter which series or story involved. The relationship between McCoy and Spock continues on after Kirk's death and the relationship between Spock and Saavik draws us all in.

Which scene was your favorite?

When the Commander and Spock met again so many years after the clocking device incident.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The ending surprised me and I refuse to give it away but I hope they make a sequel to this book.

Any additional comments?

Loved it! Great job!
