Publisher's Summary

Bodyguard Celia Graves has definitely accepted her share of weird assignments, both human and supernatural. But her newest job takes the cake. Guarding a prince from terrorists and religious fundamentalists is hard enough, but it seems like the entire supernatural world is after this guy too. When she is betrayed by those she is employed to help, and everything goes horribly wrong, Celia wakes to find herself transformed. Neither human nor vampire, Celia has become an abomination-something that should not exist-and now both human and supernatural alike want her dead. With the help of a few loyal friends-a sexy mage, a powerful werewolf, and a psychic cop-Celia does her best to stay alive. On the run from her enemies, Celia must try to discover who is behind her transformation . . . before it's too late.

Good start to a series!

The cover caught my eye and I took a chance. I gotta say getting past the first couple of chapters was difficult, but then the story dragged me in and I really liked it. I can't wait to get the next in the series. The narration needed some work though! I had a hard time getting into the story in the beginning because she was rather annoying, but either I just got used to her or she got better as the story continued.

Wanted to love it!

Oh how I wanted to love this book! I was in search of a series such as this with many books to savor, when I came upon this series by Cat Adams. I fell in love with the cover and was hoping that the inside was as great as the outside! Unfortunately I was extremely bored through most of it. Many times I kept having to rewind and listen again as my mind would wander. The most frustrating part is that the storyline has amazing potential! Possibly most of my problem with this book was the reader. I love her voice and I do believe that it matches the character perfectly....however she used NO INFLECTION! In many parts where there should have been a great deal of excitement in her voice ...it never failed to remain the same. Very mundane! If I was the author of this book I would have told her..."come on girl! Wake up and get excited about my book!"
I kept up hope until the very last page. Who knows...maybe one day I'll decide to give the second book a chance. Hopefully the reader will come to life in future books!
Thanks for reading my opinion!

Got my attention

Any additional comments?

It is a unique twist on a vampire story. I will listen to the next book in the series.

Blood Song

What did you love best about Blood Song?

Seemed unpredictable, and left you with a huge cliffhanger at the end.

What other book might you compare Blood Song to and why?

Chicagoland vampires because she gets turned into a damphir(I think that's the right word) and has to figure out how to live her life after an abrupt shift in her life, which also happens in the Chicagoland vampire series.

Any additional comments?

Definitely a interesting book, I'd recommend it.

One of my favorite series

Was very happy to find this in audible format. A good series which I will read/listen to again and again.

If you like an extremely stubborn heroine who has learned that life is never perfect and who is good at using her brain to overcome the obstacle and curves life keeps throwing at her, you will love this series as much as I do.

A surprising find

I had this in my wish list for awhile and I passed it over many times. I wasn't half way through it and purchase the next in the series. Don't wait as long as I did.

Interesting series

Quite the universe with everything from vamps and werewolves to demons and telepaths. The main character is a dhampir with a dash of siren. This is a good start and I hope character development moves along with the stories.

Worst narration ever!

I love these type of stories but the narration was so bad I couldn't get through the first chapter. Very monotone almost like the automated phone menu voice.

Not Bad

Would you try another book from Cat Adams and/or Arika Escalona?

The story is a 3 but has potential. I will listen to the next book in the series. The narrator seems new and might get better. Well see..

Great Book! Not so much the narrator

If you could sum up Blood Song in three words, what would they be?

Great, Funny, Exciting!

What other book might you compare Blood Song to and why?

I am not sure what I would compare it to it is good all on its own.

What didn’t you like about Arika Escalona’s performance?

I don't like the way she reads it.It's almost as if she is talking in monotone. She has no inflection no difference between the characters really.I can tell she is trying but it doesnt work out very well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes Unfortunatlly i couldn't but that is ok
