Publisher's summary

The Rules of Employment for The Distinguished Academy of Governesses: Always remember your station. Be sure to maintain a disciplined schoolroom. And never, ever become too familiar with the master of the house....

Lady Charlotte Dalrumple is known as England's most proper governess, a woman who has never taken a misstep socially - or romantically. On the surface, she seems perfectly suited to accept the challenge of reforming Lord Wynter Ruskin, sadly uncivilized by his travels abroad.

But Wynter has no desire to be taught manners. He glimpsed an uninhibited beauty hiding beneath Charlotte's prim exterior, and he'd much rather spend his days - and nights - instructing her in the pleasures of the body and the passions of the heart. But before they can love both must also master the Rules of Surrender.

Amusing

Cute story, however, as in most of these light romances, Lady Charlotte’s desire to hear the words, “I love you” from Wynter got a little drawn out and ridiculous. I love listening to all Karen Cass’ narrations (that’s how I found this title). The accents were off, at times sounding more Hispanic than Bedouin, but the voices of the character were easily distinguishable. She has a true talent. Overall, I enjoyed the story and will look for more from this author.

Great narration and good story

Karen Cass does an awesome job narrating this book, not once did I find the narration hard to understand or too accented. This is not my favorite in the series but it's pretty good. The hero, Wynter is so sure he knows best I couldn't wait for Charlotte to knock him down a few pegs. I really like her grand speech though I wish it had been more effective on him (he was typically clueless and missed the point). All in all though I still give it 4 stars.

Book was mediocre

I didn’t enjoy this book. There was no chemistry between the hero and heroine. I had to fast forward to finish the book.

Much better than Book 1

Karen Cass did a much better job of narrating this book than she did in book 1. Or maybe the story was better written, or maybe the characters were more easily interpreted. Regardless the end result was a great improvement. The story was well-paced, kind of intriguing and the characters were very very interesting. Karen did a great job with the middle eastern accent. I will listen to this one again.

Great

Better than book 1. Great hero, nice to see a questioning of the cultural mores

Excellent story and narration!

I am so happy this book has become available in audio! Christina Dodd's ability to combine humor, adventure and romance is remarkable and this story has it all. The narration is superb, with Karen Cass able to perform all characters with their individual ages and accents, with expertise. All in all, this purchase is a delight and well worth a credit. The series, The Governess Brides, contains stories will the same valuable qualities and I've enjoyed them all. I do hope Audible will get Ms. Dodd's princess series, especially book #1 The Runaway Princess, on Audible as I will be the first to purchase it.
