Publisher's Summary

Amy came to Rosemary Cottage to grieve, to heal, maybe even find love. But there’s a deadly undertow of secrets around Hope Island.... The charming Rosemary Cottage on the beach offers Amy Lange respite she needs to mourn her brother, Ben. She’s even thinking of moving her midwife practice to the Outer Banks community. It’s always been a refuge for her and her family. She also wants to investigate Ben’s disappearance at sea. Everyone blames a surfing accident, but Amy has reason to wonder.

Coast Guard officer Curtis Ireland has lost a sibling, too. His sister, Gina, was run down by a boat, leaving him to raise her infant daughter. If anyone knew who little Raine’s father was, Curtis could lose his beloved niece. Yet he can’t help being drawn to Hope Beach’s new midwife, Amy. He even agrees to help her investigate what happened to both Ben and Gina. Can two grieving people with secrets find healing on beautiful Hope Island? Or will their quest for truth set them at odds with each other...and with those who will go to any length to keep hidden things hidden?

Good Beach Story

Good story, made me want to know more about how the characters lives turned out. I wasn't so crazy about the performance. That is probably just me though. I have listened to several books narrated by Devon O'Day and not really cared for them. For some reason I don't care for the way she reads them. That being said give the book a listen because the story is good.

uuuug. Narrator... boring and icky.

Would you try another book from Colleen Coble and/or Devon O'Day?

Colleen is good. Devon is horrid.

Has Rosemary Cottage turned you off from other books in this genre?

by anything O'Day narrates, I will never listen to or buy again. One is all I can take.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Like a radio show...acting and too dramatic.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Outer Banks is my husband's home and I wanted to hear all about it, even in a fictional story. I can't listen do to the rambling, uneven, acting type narration. I want a book not a radio acting show.

Any additional comments?

I need refunds on three books!

Trash

Don’t bother! The reader sounds like an old granny, somehow they are all now Christians with strong faith in chapter 21, the Boston accent sounds like a southern gentleman....I just can’t. I have zero taste and will listen to just about anything but I can not finish this book. It’s so bad it makes “Supermarket”look like a Pulitzer Prize winning piece. Yikes

Another Beach 🏖 Page-Turner by Colleen Coble!

Another Hope Island Beach Page-Turner by Novelist Colleen Coble! And her Hope Island stories keep getting better and better. Amy comes home to Rosemary Cottage to grieve the loss of her brother Nick, who was lost in a surfing accident. His body was never recovered. So she can’t accept he’s dead and begins her own investigation. In her quest to find the truth she meets Charlie, Coast Guard member and single father of six-month-old baby Raine. Raine’s mother, and Charlie’s sister, was killed in a boating accident shortly before. But who was Raine’s father? And, did these two accidents off Hope Island have anything to do with each other? The characters are so vivid in this book, I wanted to jump into their conversations. In some conversations, I wanted to shake someone. In some I wanted to show a guest (?) the door! And when the action got going, I could feel the sea spray on my face and, at times found myself thinking, “Charlie, look out!” I was right there inside the story! Oh! And the ante really goes up when baby Raine is kidnapped with no ransom demand! And, in true Coble style, the mystery isn’t solved until the very last twist and turn. I won’t spoil it for you. But, I will promise you.... This book is worth a second read...and I’ll love it and the great narration by Devon O’Day all over again! I highly recommend you read Rosemary Cottage!!! *****

Narrator too sweet for this book

Narrator would be great for a children’s book. Much too juvenile narration for a story with edge.

Pleasant listen

Not sure about narrator. Sounded too much like Debbie Macomber books. Male narration could be better

Too much religious reference

I was happy to find a series on the southern coast . I’m a Christian woman, but it is distracting from the story.

Fantastic captivating clean suspense

Another GREAT story by Colleen Coble. It is a mix of mystery, suspense and clean romance with a tangled plot that keeps you reading. It is captivating from the first page until the last with twists that keep you guessing until the end. I loved it!
