She woke with blood on her hands, a dead man beside her, and no memory of how she got there...

As the CEO of a successful technology firm, Nia Anderson routinely makes split-second decisions. Now, every choice she makes could lead to life in prison or her own untimely death. She knows freedom lies in finding the real killer, but the evidence is stacked against her. Just when Nia thinks things can't get any worse, everything spins even more out of control.

Trained by the military in a top-secret program and now an operative for the Shadow Agency, Gage Pearson has the skills necessary to find his friend's killer and bring the murderer to justice. When the trail of clues leads straight to Nia Anderson, he sets his sights on her. She may look innocent, but he knows deception takes many forms.

To track down the culprit, Nia and Gage must work together. But trust may prove to be as elusive as the killer. Can they flush the killer from the shadows before the darkness crashes around them?

I couldn't put the book away. I loved the characters and the plot was good.

Can't stop.

I enjoyed the story and the narration. The character's voices were distinct and sounded true to the people being portrayed. That can make all the difference. A good story poorly narrated is like a punishment as you try to slog you way through it. Enough about that.

The story itself had enough character/relational development that I found myself asking: hmm, I wonder what they'll learn or how will this or that incident affect them in their larger life stories.

They both seemed like really decent people even though were both impossibly smart and beautiful! Neither of them had a snooty bone in their fictional bodies😁

I will probably even listen to it again after I enjoy the next ones in this promising series.

Happy listening 🙋🏾‍♀️

Really Enjoyable

This book was similar to another book I listened to. It started out very similar. But after a chapter or two, the book stood on its own.
And it was difficult to identify the bad guy.
As usual, there are many twists & turns and I finished this book in one sitting. I’m looking forward to book two!!

Good story
