Publisher's Summary

Elin Summerall knows things she absolutely shouldn’t...and a killer with do everything in his power to silence her in this riveting romantic suspense.

Elin Summerall was one of the lucky ones. Not only did she get a heart transplant, but the donor was a perfect fit. A miraculously perfect fit.

But when Elin begins having violent flashbacks — and vivid dreams of being strangled — she realizes that she has been the recipient of more than just a new heart...Elin is remembering her donor’s murder.

Her strange affliction has attracted some unwanted attention: from the press, from the authorities...and from the killer himself. Now, living alone with her young daughter and aging mother, Elin is being stalked — by a man she’s only met in her nightmares.

The police are dubious of her story, but one off-duty FBI agent agrees to help her: Agent Marc Everton.

Now, in a remote cottage on Hope Island, Elin and Marc must probe the secrets buried in her borrowed heart. And there’s no time to waste. One man is desperate to silence her — before she remembers too much.

Always a winner with Colleen Coble!

I have loved all of Colleen Coble's books, and this is no exception. She develops her characters and stories very well. This story about a heart transplant recipient is different than anything I have read by her. My only criticism is I wish she had done more explanation of cell memory, But, that does not take away from the book. I highly recommend it!

Excellent

Intrigue, good outcome, unpredictable, good character development, good morals and yet true to life. What a refreshing change to read this author after reading so many books that I have had to return due to foul language or steamy sex scenes.

Ridiculous Story

I could have dealt with the storyline except for the idea of cell memory. That is preposterous! God did not create us to gain memories from a transplant donor. RIDICULOUS!! I like Colleen Coble’s books, but not this one!! Stick with the other two Hope Harbor books and forget about this one 😩😩

Usually a big fan...

This book started out scary enough that I didn't know if I was tough enough but did keep "reading". There were lots of things I liked about it but overall, it didn't impress me. Probably what bothered me most was, for an FBI agent, Mark was pretty complacent, culminating with his leaving his "gun" on the seat of his truck at a time when that would not have happened. I look forward to my next Colleen Coble but if this had been my first, there probably wouldn't be a next.

Real nail biting Suspense!

Real nail biting suspense, this book starts strong and stays that way. Holding your attention and making you think. Who did it? Then there is the friendships, and the romance, and let’s not forget the location. The perfect cottage on the beach on the island Your going to love this book! I can’t wait to start my next Colleen Coble book.

Seagrass Pier

Mrs. Coble is one of my all time favorite authors. This was a wonderful series. This book will hook the reader from the first sentence. There were several twists and turns that were not red herrings. The ending is intense and eye opening. The characters were endearing and memorable. Mrs Coble's books are always clean. The narrator was outstanding, too. As always looking forward to many more by this author.

Enjoyed a lot

I really enjoyed the story and have nothing bad to say about it but although I really enjoy/love listening to Devon O'Day's voice in most books , I didn't think it was particularly suited to this one. Even when pursued by someone trying to kill her she never seemed to sound upset or frightened. Her voice almost always seemed to have a lilting laugh hidden in it like she was delighted about something. In other words it never changes tone. Other than that I loved the book.

Comical detective errors - I found myself laughing

I hope real detectives do not make such ridiculous mistakes!

It did take any fear out of the story for me.
