Publisher's summary

"Coble is a great writer, she knows what readers want and she does not disappoint." (Romantic Times)

Lucy Marsh's worldly resources are running out, but she's fiercely determined to care for her younger brother and sister. When she discovers that their father's recent death was no accident, Lucy is eager to leave town. She accepts a proxy marriage she believes will provide safe refuge. But trouble follows her to Texas where her new husband is surprised to suddenly have a wife and children to care for.

Nate Stanton always hoped he'd marry someday, but running the family ranch meant he had no time for romance. When his father deposits Lucy Marsh - a city girl - on his doorstep, with two siblings in the bargain, he expects ranch life will send her running on the first train out of town. But Lucy is made of tougher stuff than Nate imagined. When danger moves in, Nate finds he'd give anything to protect Lucy and the children he's grown to love. Even if it means giving up his ranch.

Blue Moon Promise is a story of hope, romance, and suspense...immersing the reader in a rich historical tale set under Texas stars.

This is one of my favorite books!

This book had me hooked from chapter one! I love everything about it. The blue moon promise will not disappoint you! But I suggest waiting till the weekend so you don’t have to wait long hours to listen some more.

predictable. rote

I read this book because it was a different author than I've read before but it was the same as all the western romance. not real western, not very romantic.

Too Problematic For My Taste

So yeah, this is probably one of the oldest books I have on my TBR and I was really ready to be swept away by the Texan cowboys .. but alas I was really disappointed
the story is about Lucy who finds herself in a tight spot in life, she has to take care of her two younger siblings after the death of her parents and her landlord is evacuating her soon .. and then suddenly, a friend of her late father gives a proposition, marry his son Nate and she will be cared for .. the catch is .. Nate doesn't know he is married to Lucy, so imagine his surprise when he discover that this woman is his wife, will it work ?
this is a Christian fiction, of course it will work.. but I really didn't like how Lucy was really ok with forcing a guy into marrying her, really, she was so ready for her "wifely duties" since day one .. it's weird to see that the guy was the jerk and he was dragged into it without knowing (did it work this way at that time ? could his father get him into marriage without his consent ? ) .. yeah this is too problematic for me

the narrator wasn't great .. she was barely performing and I didn't like her lack of emotions, specially in the intense scenes

Amazing read!!

This story gripped my heart from start to finish. Such a pure love story, and compelling message. Clean plot, well rounded characters, humor, and emotion all welled into one book.
I’m picky about the books I read, and can be quite skeptical and analytical when it comes to novels, but I can only say great things about this book. I found myself relating to the character Lucy on several occasions. This story captures what true love is all about, not only within the love story between characters, but wonderfully spoke about the love of Christ as well.

The story was so compelling that I finished it within less than 24 hours of starting.

Good

For the most part I enjoyed this book, and since I have several of the authors audiobooks I knew it would most likely be pretty good. That said however at some point while listening I found Lucy's control issues and her self doubt a little bit annoying. Nate is a well rounded charactor but I did find that it took a bit long for them to trust each other and declare their love for each other. But would I listen to this again? Yes.

Christian Romances used to actually talk a lot about the Lord, and a Character's faith used to be strong and woven throughout a well told good old fashioned romance story. In the last ten or so years, most Christian Romance books barely mention a charactors faith and their walk with God, and although the charactors faith is mentioned in this book, it's not there all that much. I miss the days when you could pick up any Christian Romance and there were strong Christian overtones throughout the story. Most Christian authors back in the day were very much like Janette Oke and Lori Wick where the Christian faith is strongly woven in those stories. Now days it's barely there and basically what your getting is watered down faith and basically a clean romance without all the graphic sex in them, which I do enjoy that part, but I would barely call this book like so many others in this Genre a true Christian Romance.

DNF - Not My Cup of Tea

I bought this book knowing nothing about the author. I read the blurb and it sounded like a standard romance novel. It is RIFE with biblical quotes and Christianity. I like a good "pure love" story but this was over-the-top religious. I can see how this type of story may suit other people but it was just not my cup of tea. I can't complain about the performance, the narration was lovely. However, I DNF it and it was nonreturnable, so buyer be warned. I really wish the author would have placed the fact that it was a Christian themed book into the blurb/tags or permitted returns; it would have saved me from wasting my time and adding her to my "no purchase" list and she would not be getting this less than stellar review right now.

Great story

This was a great book by Colleen Coble. It had many interlacing parts, and it was nice to see the relationship gently develop between Nate and Lucy.

Lucy was a woman of morals and good values even in her meager surroundings. She knew who she was, and stood firm for what was right.

It wasn’t till the very end of the book that many other loose ends were made clear and tied up. Human nature was made evident, but the love between Nate and Lucy held strong and they did the right thing.

The book seemed slow for a little bit, but by the end everything picked up and came together nicely.

I would recommend this book.

The story is ok however, a bit boring.

The narration really makes the story come alive. The characters are unforgettable. The storyline lingers longer then it needs too. I really liked the clean and wholesome feel but at times it felt a bit juvenile.

It’s okay

Basic Christian romance set in Texas in the 1800s. Nothing exceptional but nothing awful either. Forgettable.
