Publisher's Summary

Haroun became infamous throughout 12th century Europe for his skill at combat, only rivaled by his notoriety as the land's favorite killer-for-hire. Haroun's actions have gained him everything he's ever desired. But after years of killing without question, he begins to follow his conscience after meeting Gabriella. Gabriella of Mordo, daughter to a powerful ruler, was to be married to a stranger, but has shunned the life of a lady, instead studying warfare and combat with the goal to fight in the Crusades. After fleeing her father's castle to secretly join the fight against the Moors, Gabriella meets Haroun, and are soon caught up in dangerous intrigue. Forced together to survive, they discover a kinship of spirit and a surprising, intense desire. Can love thrive when loyalties are divided?

Couldn't really rate story - reader too annoying

The reader just didn't go with the story. I would have preferred a reader with a British accent. The American accent was just GRATING. I'll try reading the story instead.

The book which is very interesting.

Any additional comments?

It is the nature of histories that they are usually told by those in power, the privileged and the prized, those with authority, a ready audience, and a voice. It does not make it less true, but certainly less complete.Really a nice one and nice story.<br/>Highly recommended!

Assassin story

Where does The Moor rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Best audiobook by far when it comes to a thriller.

Any additional comments?

I wish this story was a little bit longer. I read the book as well but I wanted to reread it again but was too lazy. Thankfully I just downloaded this as an audio version and it turned out great. I love the suspense and Crusader trilogy series!

Nice book
nice story to hear liked by my daughter
This review is really feedback from her listening intervention. She was thoroughly delighted with the manner in which the listener brought the book to life using the most perfect diction and characterization of voices. The story line was so easy to follow and because of the interesting way in which the listener chose to dialogue,

The best book ever!!

The story was well written, but the narrator, although he did a good job at distinguishing the voices of different characters, was otherwise monotonous and mechanical sounding when listening narration or any of the first person dialog, making the central character sound a little deadpan and emotionless.

Not what I thought. Romantic drivel. Not an historical novel.

Schmitz. Very poor characterisations too. Plot weak at best. Very disappointed. I thought it was going to be a novel set in crusades with historical accuracy and a plot line those PaulDoherty writes
.
