The Complete Series ~

Feisty Maggie MacBede will never marry a warrior. Och no! With eight strapping brothers and a warrior of a Da, she has had enough of holding her own against great headstrong men. She’ll not risk her heart to the sword. Give her a poet, a bard, any man but a fighting man, and she will find her match.

Talorc the Bold, the Laird MacKay, has no care for Maggie’s foolishness. When he heard the MacBede battle cry, “For Our Maggie!” and witnessed the impossible victory it spurred, he set out to marry her for the clan. Then he felt her in his arms and knew he would marry her for himself and the grand power of their mating.

The clan intercedes, the two are Handfasted, married for a year and a day as an enemy lurks deep in the belly of the clan. By winning his bride’s love, Talorc may just lose her life.

Wonderful highland romance

Any additional comments?

Strong men and women. Conflict between clans and within families. A romance that was meant to be but has so many obstacles. Unpredictable, sensual, dark villains, spies and betrayal. Great story and the narrator did it justice. You can get lost in this one.

Hm....

This books audio version is hard to truly appreciate to the fullest since the narrator is not that easy on the ears.... yet the book is good enough that wading through it isn't actually a chore either. I found the book well written and I really wanted to know more, back stories and destinies both.

Okay Highland story.. heroine a bit annoying

First off the narrator does a good job I am just not a big fan of male narrators for some reason.

The problem I have with this book is that I never was completely sold on the characters. I didn't necessarily feel that they were falling in love or feeling attraction really. The author wrote it but her writing didn't make me feel it. That doesn't mean that I disliked the book it was good it was fine it just didn't invoke any major feelings within me. It was one of those that I did not have a problem taking the ear buds out and waiting until morning to listen to more of it.

It's hard to like the heroine because she's stupid and unrealistic about a lot of things. I don't condone senseless violence but we're talking about the 1700's and there's a rebellion going on. This guy IS fighting for his country and honor and revenge! It just it makes no sense for her to be like "no you can't harm anybody" and all this ....it just gets annoying.

I'm not going to immediately read the rest of the books in the series. Even though I want to find out some of the other stories this book series just may not be at the very top of my list it may be something I have to revisit when I don't have quite as many really good books waiting for me to listen to.

hard to put down!

This story was well written. I will probably look for more books by Becca St John. And Agliotta did an excellent job narrating. I had no problem following which character was speaking. Enjoyed it!

It was ok

I enjoyed the story and the narrator was excellent on the female parts. But when it came to doing the male voice she was not very good. Not enough feeling for a strong alpha male. did not finish listening to it. I will read the rest. Worth a credit That is up to you.

Loved this highland tale !

Narrator brought this lovely story to life. Can't wait to listen to next in the trilogy.

One of those rare and lucky finds that has you feeling as if you're transported to the place and time. The narrator is perfect in delivering an exciting, at times funny and heartfelt, emotional storyline.

I'll definitely be looking at other books by this Author in the near future.
