Publisher's summary

Forced to his knees in agony whenever he speaks the truth, Gideon can recognize any lie--until he captures Scarlet, a demon-possessed immortal who claims to be his long-lost wife. He doesn't remember the beautiful female, much less wedding - or bedding - her. But he wants to...almost as much as he wants her.

But Scarlet is a keeper of nightmares too dangerous to roam free. A future with her might mean ultimate ruin, especially as Gideon's enemies draw closer - and the truth threatens to destroy all he's come to love.

The Darkest Lie

Max Bellmore is awesome. This series was enhanced by his voice and how he makes the charachters come alive. I would listen to any book he reads.
This series of books is fantastic. You get involved with the characters and the plots are consumming. Can't wait until Gena Showalter completes the series.

I Hated this book (NOT) Gideonspeak ha ha

I was reticent to read this one I don't know why. Fear that Gideon would not be sexy or that Scarlet would not be likable? I was blown away!!!! Masterful plotting. Seems like everyone is getting in the game and the series just keeps getting more and more exciting. Whatever Ms. Showalter is drinking make mine a double. This book was her best yet. And Max Bellamore does a smoking job too. If you like Gena Showalter's books check out you tube for Author Talk with Jill Monroe.

I HATE GIDEON AND SCARLETT!! LOL

Would you consider the audio edition of The Darkest Lie to be better than the print version?

Always is....but I only listened!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Gideon...he is so sweet...the dirty little liar!!! lol

What about Max Bellmore’s performance did you like?

He nailed it as always!!!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The part about Steele and the memories..so so sad!!!

Any additional comments?

I really love Gideon, he has a hard time, can you imagine never being able to tell the truth or else you suffered in pain? My heart went out to Gideon and Scarlett time and time again..and I am so glad they ended up together as they should be...I am on to book 7!!!

Coulda been hard to understand

With the demon that Lies is saddled with this story could have been really difficult. Instead it was amusing and fun. The premise of the story was pretty good, though there were a few twists that I was able to figure out before they were revealed in the story.

Each of these books leaves me looking forward to the next. I've given up trying to listen to other series' between each of these books and am just going book to book at this point.

Not Impressed

Firstly, I didn't realize this was a Harlequin book. Normally that would be enough but I do listen to fantasy/romance so the book itself is not too far off. Narration was OK. The book was just very simple.
From what I deduct, this is one of a series so maybe it would make sense that way...There were two different story lines developing one of which made absolutely no sense. I kept wondering did she just write this stuff as fill? I enjoy mythology very much and have enjoyed the small twists the author has made. But, nothing that knocked me off my socks.
Scarlett was a good character. Gideon was sometimes a bit too stupid. I know, I know...He can't speak the truth but it got a quiet a bit more monotone toward the end. Romance part was also mediocre. If you're looking for that...Sherilyn Kenyon or Feehan...
Listen if you wish but don't expect too much of anything.

I bit too confusing

This would be my least favorite story of Gena Showalter's series. I'd like to like it more than I did but it is just hard to get warm up to something that mean the opposite....
