Publisher's Summary

Ever since being stuck with the job of pythia, the chief seer of the supernatural world, Cassie Palmer has been playing catch up. Catch up to the lifetime's worth of training she missed being raised by a psychotic vampire instead of at the fabled pythian court. Catch up to the powerful, and sometimes seductive, forces trying to mold her to their will. It's been a trial by fire that has left her more than a little burned.

But now she realizes that all that was just the warm up for the real race. Ancient forces that once terrorized the world are trying to return, and Cassie is the only one who can stop them....

Amazeballs!

Loved this book! The characters are so well written and the plot progresses nicely. It's pretty nonstop action yet it doesn't feel overwhelming. I definitely recommend it!

Like the story, dislike the narration :/

1. The narrator is SOOOOO SLOOOOOOW. I had to speed it up to 1.25 speed.
2. She doesn't use the character's long- established accents! Seriously... they all sound American :(
3. She mispronounces several words and sometimes mispronounces the characters names.
4. The recoding is not well-edited. I'm only half way through the audiobook, and their are several obvious dubbed places and a few repeated sentences.

That said- I liked the story. As usual, there is a lot of action. There is also some major character development. I'm glad I read the book first, or I might have felt differently about the story, because the narration was distracting.

Excellent

Great narration for a most excellent story. Karen Chance weaves a complex, beautiful narrative full of feeling and awe inspiring action.
