Publisher's Summary

Living in Southern California, Cheyenne was used to seeing hot military men as she went about her daily business. An anonymous encounter at the grocery store cemented her crush on one such man. He was big, built, and incredibly easy on the eyes, but it wasn't as if he would ever really notice her.

Always in control of any situation, Faulkner "Dude" Cooper knows explosives. As a bomb expert, he's lived through many high pressure situations. Disfigured by a bomb while on a mission, he's used to being looked at with pity. When he's called to a local supermarket to assist the local PD, the last thing he expects to find is a generous act of kindness performed by a beautiful, amazing woman. Enchanted by her selflessness in the face of danger and intrigued by her actions to save civilians she didn't know, Dude's hooked.

Dude was able to save Cheyenne from the group of thugs trying to take her life, but when the past comes back to haunt them both, sometimes having the knowledge and the desire isn't enough to beat the countdown of the clock.

Protecting Cheyenne is the fifth book in the SEAL of Protection Series. It can be listened to as a stand-alone, but it's recommended you hear the books in order to get maximum enjoyment out of the series.

Minor submissive/master

If you could sum up Protecting Cheyenne in three words, what would they be?

Bombs Bound Aggressive

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It really kept me listening. I had a little trouble with the bad guys - they weren't put together but that helped the rescue scene. The whole rescue scene had me holding my breath.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I am usually not keen on submissive/master type romance. That doesn't mean that I didn't like the story - there has to be differences because otherwise there would only be one story. This was only a minor submissive/master - not anything too hard core.

Good love story.

I'm enjoying the series, these guys are good alpha protectors. I do think "Dude" was a little over the top controlling. The must be home by this time and so on was a little annoying. Other than that he was a great guy.

This series is addicting!

I can’t get enough of this series. Up next is Dude. He is the explosives expert on the team. After losing his portion of his left hand, he was looking for someone to accept him as he was. He thought it would never happened until one day when he was called in by the local PD to assist with a bomb strapped to a quirky, beautiful, selfless woman.

Cheyenne was never one to complain. She saw herself as a person who was average. She did an important job as a 9-1-1 operator but she saw her job as someone who helps but really just answers phones all day. Nothing she ever did was no big deal. Just when she thought she was in the clear after being saved by Dude, she finds herself being hunted by the ring of terrorist. Will Dude be able to save the woman he loves or will it all blow up in his face?

Keep this series coming cause I can’t get enough!

Great series

Fantastic series but this one is not quite up to the previous ones. Still good though. Totally worth the credit. Lots of action and great romance.

Language takes away from story

The premise of the story is good. I like a story about a strong man saving a woman but I felt like the repeated use of the F word and other swearwords took away from the story. The first story in the series Saving Caroline is the best so far.

Not worth listening too!

The narration was horrible. The voice of Cheyann was whiny. It was like chalk on a chalk board! The story was written in choppy sentences. Save your time and money!

HOT, HOT, HOT!

Take charge seals are so hot. Cheyenne is fantasizing about a military man, last name Cooper. She had seen him at the neighborhood grocery store on more than one occasion. Dude is called to that very store to disarm a bomb only to discover it's wrapped around Cheyenne. Action-packed and filled with suspense, this is s fascinating book.

Dude got on my nerves.

Overall, I've enjoyed this series as I like the whole damsel in distress type of story and that's basically what each story in this series is based.

I like the toughness and roughness of the seals with tender hearts. What I didn't like was Faulkner/Dude's overbearingness. He got on my nerves and I found myself rolling my eyes too many times to count.

I wanted to like him, as he seemed cool in other stories, but in this one, he was just way too much. Made it hard to like him. Cheyenne can keep him cause she seems the perfect little submissive for his totally unnecessary dominance. She came across as almost weak.

Also, the story was a little too far fetched. The performance was good, though.

Cheyenne and Dude

Great story and another strong female character to enjoy. I like all of Susan Stoker's books and haven't read a dud yet.

Narrator does a good job.

This one has some sex scenes that you may want to listen to without an audience. Earphones recommended.
