Publisher's summary

Diligent, hardworking Paige Levine survived a traumatic childhood and went on to work her way through college, landing a coveted job in the Governor’s cabinet. But when a steamy scandal threatens to tarnish her innocent reputation, Paige finds herself unemployed, miserable, and alone. The spirited redhead seeks solace in tequila shots - and a smoldering, sensual attraction soon erupts between her and a deliciously sexy deliveryman, leading to a red-hot encounter in a bar bathroom.

Little does Paige know that the deliveryman is actually Leo Savas, a shipping magnate as powerful in the boardroom as he is in the bedroom. Leo agrees to hire Paige as his glorified gopher, though it’s hard to remain professional with desire pulsing between the two of them. But when the scandal at the Governor’s office hits the papers, Paige wonders if her new life - and her new love - are lost forever.

From the bestselling author of Break Me Slowly comes the latest sensual Sweet Torment story of erotic exploration and letting passion be the ultimate boss.

Emotional, sexy and hot!

This story is about Paige who works for the Governor’s office and resigned during a political scandal. She then is hired by Leo, a Greek shipping magnate, who is immediately drawn to her, as his temporary personal assistant. Exciting for Paige because Leo also sees her intelligence and worth, along with her beauty. Their backstories had many layers and Joya’s flawless writing created excellent chemistry. It was sexy, romantic, emotional and a new storyline for me. Very touching about learning to trust again and being loved and supported!

"You Want To Buy Me A Sandwich?"

Would you listen to Only You again? Why?

This gal has spunk and our hero is YUM! If you liked the film, Working Girl, then this story is for you.

What did you like best about this story?

This is a light H.E.A.E type story. No F.S.O.G. stuff, so the journey is delightful and you have a smile on your face as you listen.

What about Angela Dawe’s performance did you like?

I am a devoted fan of Ms Dawe which was why I purchased this book/author.
Note you must use new 1.25x speed to get what the author intended.
Ms Dawe's male and children voices are the best.
If you liked this story, see the Tiffany Snow series reader does, Hot.
Julie Garwood's Sweet Talk is one of my faves not to be missed.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I love strong determined heroines who don't give up. Author uses elements that evoke your smiles, laughter, and don't give up attitude .

Any additional comments?

book 1 is by another reader, which I will have to sample before buying.

A great storyline.

I enjoyed the story, although ut felt more like a single story rather than a second book in a series. The was nearly no showing of the characters from the first book. The reader did a good job but her male voice was a little off putting. But, all in all, I enjoyed the book very much.

Better h... Mostly

Lack of communication... Check
A self-doubt filled h... Check
An a-hole H... Not really
Lots of sex... Check

This was a pretty decent story but it was held down by the self doubt, lack of communication and repetitive head babble.

The story itself is good but the substance was a bit lacking.

Intense

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Probably not. I did enjoy the book but I was so upset by her friends betrayal (Amy & the Gov.) who just cut Paige out of their lives with no effort to tell her what they felt they needed to do then once the investigation was over, poof, wanted her back in.

Would you recommend Only You to your friends? Why or why not?

No. See above. I loved Amy & the Gov. in book one of the series then was disappointed with them in book 2.

How could the performance have been better?

Different narrator. Angela Dawe has an annoying style.

Narration not right for this book

I like Dawe narration for something like historical romances.... not this. Joya Ryan is this extremely intense writer...rather the characters go through emotional roller coasters, which makes the readers feel this intense connection with them. So the narration has to pull those emotions out by small inflections, accents, crescendo, whispers, moans and such while reading. If the emotional parts are done at the wrong time...well it make the book sound like something it is not...

From Dawe's narration I felt like this read like a 18th century romance stuck in 2014 NY.... completely wrong...

That being said...I actually like Dawe narration...just in the right time period...lol....anyway...this story is really good...kinda on the lines of book1... could be a great emotional read that is expected from Ryan...if the narration was changed...

Also...I must say, the female lead come off as a totally byotch, at times with way to much pride who couldn't humble herself...but then in the same breath, she was completely defenseless.... not the same strong willed character from book1... and I think it's because of how she was narrated... and the Governor...what happen to him...no pity at all...

GEEZ!

I just can't recommend this for narration....but if the narration was changed...mos definitely a buy, credit, or sale...
