Publisher's Summary

While the world carries on unawares, Stryker, who leads an army of demons and vampires, is plotting an all out onslaught against his enemies - which, unfortunately for us, includes the entire human race. To avenge his sister, Stryker prepares to annihilate the Dark-Hunters.

But things go awry when his oldest enemy returns. Enter his ex-wife. Zephyra. Just when he thought nothing could stop him, he's now embroiled in a centuries old war with a shrew who gives new meaning to pain.

Love in vein: listen to another Dark-Hunter novel.

    "Worst Narrator EVER"
What didn’t you like about Scott Brick’s performance?

He sounded bored reading the story. Voice sounded like it was dripping with disdain for the material. Honestly, if I had the time to be able to fight my dyslexia and my lack of time to read....I would have returned this purchase. LONGEST 6+ HOURS EVER!

His voice just didn't make the story enjoyable. I thought he was trying to channel George Taki at times.

    "Stereotypical mocking of romance novels"

As much as I love any story by Sherrilyn Kenyon William Dufris's narration made enjoying the audio version an impossibility. His over the top narration reeked of the stereotypical mocking of romance novels that we've been subjected to over the years. While I wanted to listen to this while I drive, I'm deleting it and picking up my Kindle when I get home.

Great story, amazing author. The guy reading it has terrible accents and pronounces a lot of words wrong, very disappointing.

    "Could have been better"
Would you listen to One Silent Night again? Why?

I love this series, I'm hooked on it and that is what makes it so disappointing to listen to this one without getting frustrated. I don't know who William Dufris is but his voice would better serve a fairy tale or something a little less serious. I know narrating is not easy but maybe he should have listened to Fred Berman or Holter Graham so he could at least pronounce the names and words correctly... When he said the word Matera it sounded like Mothra...I had to replay it before I realized what he was saying..there are a few other examples but it's not worth it. I am struggling to get through it and it's only 6 hrs long. The only reason I'm continuing is because I need to know what occurs so I can move on to the next one. If you're a die hard fan of the DH series and if you've read the books then I suggest you bypass this audio book or buy the book and continue with the next in the audible series. I do not have the books so I'm going to continue. And the story line is good but I'm struggling to listen to it because of the narrator.

What other book might you compare One Silent Night to and why?

    There is no comparison

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Scott Brick?

    Fred Berman or Holter Graham

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    yes

    Any additional comments?

I hope Mr. Berman or Mr. Graham re do this one. The story line is good but Mr. Dufris is not a good fit for the DH series.

    "I love this series!"

This was a very difficult book for me to push through. While I absolutely loved reading it, the narrator was rough. Names were mispronounced and the voices were hard to deal with. Of course this won't stop me from continuing on with the series.

    "Good book, terrible narrator."
What made the experience of listening to One Silent Night the most enjoyable?

The only thing good about this audio rendition was that audio books can be a hands free experience.

If you’ve listened to books by Sherrilyn Kenyon before, how does this one compare?

The story is good. I personally enjoyed this book more when I read it for myself awhile back. Mainly these are not the voices I would picture these characters with. Snarky and sarcastic for a female is not always or not nearly always the whiny voice used for the female characters' sarcasm. Not to mention Stryker sounds like a bieber fan boy. I've read all of Sherrilyn's dark hunter books and after awhile you get an idea of what a characters 'voice' would sound like.

Would you be willing to try another one of Scott Brick’s performances?

Not willingly, only if I have the misfortune to have him narrate another of Sherrilyn Keynon's books.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, again because of the narrator.

    Any additional comments?

If this book were ever re-released with either Holter Graham or Fred Berman narrating... well those I would listen to hands down before this particular gentleman again.

Would you try another book from Sherrilyn Kenyon and/or Scott Brick?

Sherrilyn Kenyon, YES, YES, a 1000 times, YES!!!!

scott brick, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What did you like best about this story?

It was written by Sherrilyn Kenyon and is a Dark-Hunter novel.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

most of the voices sounded like ancient relics, instead of God's and demigods in the prime of their ages. the women sounded like drag queens (mr brick and holter graham have a lot in common in this area), evidently the narrator didn't listen to the earlier books, none of the characters in this novel come anywhere close to the other voices in the other novels.

Was One Silent Night worth the listening time?

Story-wise, yes. if you can get through the grating horrid garbles of the narrator.

    Any additional comments?

i will be sure to buy the e-book next time and read it myself, if mr. brick or mr graham are the narrators of record. sorry guys, you are bad.

What disappointed you about One Silent Night?

The characters were bad guys anyway so why would you suddenly like them....

Has One Silent Night turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Scott Brick?

Anyone could have done better that this guy

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    NO
