Publisher's summary

While the world carries on unawares, Stryker, who leads an army of demons and vampires, is plotting an all out onslaught against his enemies—which, unfortunately for us, includes the entire human race. To avenge his sister, Stryker prepares to annihilate the Dark-Hunters. But things go awry when his oldest enemy returns. Enter his ex-wife. Zephyra. Just when he thought nothing could stop him, he's now embroiled in a centuries old war with a shrew who gives new meaning to pain.

Love in vein: listen to another Dark-Hunter novel.

Kenyon fan

I loved the story. There were times when I would laugh out loud, but was not impressed with the narrator.

Good series by a great author

Like everyone else the narrator hurt my love of this novel. I had already read it so I knew I liked it and if I want to re-visit it I will read rather than listen. I love this series and will continue with it, hoping for a new narrator next book.

narrator

The narrator ruined the book it was nearly impossible to listen to and I almost didn't make it.

Wrong Narrator

The narrator placed emphasis in the wrong places sometimes and pronounced some of the more obscure words/names in a way I didn't agree with.

Other than that, another cheesy but great installment to one of my favorite guilty-pleasure series.

Could have been better

Would you listen to One Silent Night again? Why?

I love this series, I'm hooked on it and that is what makes it so disappointing to listen to this one without getting frustrated. I don't know who William Dufris is but his voice would better serve a fairy tale or something a little less serious. I know narrating is not easy but maybe he should have listened to Fred Berman or Holter Graham so he could at least pronounce the names and words correctly... When he said the word Matera it sounded like Mothra...I had to replay it before I realized what he was saying..there are a few other examples but it's not worth it. I am struggling to get through it and it's only 6 hrs long. The only reason I'm continuing is because I need to know what occurs so I can move on to the next one. If you're a die hard fan of the DH series and if you've read the books then I suggest you bypass this audio book or buy the book and continue with the next in the audible series. I do not have the books so I'm going to continue. And the story line is good but I'm struggling to listen to it because of the narrator.

What other book might you compare One Silent Night to and why?

There is no comparison

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Scott Brick?

Fred Berman or Holter Graham

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes

Any additional comments?

I hope Mr. Berman or Mr. Graham re do this one. The story line is good but Mr. Dufris is not a good fit for the DH series.

Narrator ruins!

What did you like best about One Silent Night? What did you like least?

Plot line is good.

How could the performance have been better?

Never, ever use this narrator again!

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yes

Any additional comments?

I won't download the next book due to the use of the same ridiculous narrator!

worst narrator ever

I think the story is very creative and great! IF! (BIG IF!!) you can get past the sniveling voice of the narrator. I am glad I didn't listen to a sample because I totally would not have listened to this book. Consider yourself warned! (ps intimate scenes make me want to gag with the narrators voice! sorry to be cruel, but it's the truth!)

Narrator is HORRENDOUS!

I've listened to other books read by Scott Brick and they were fine--but every time he does a female voice in this book I want to slap him silly! He makes every female character high pitched, squeaky, whiny, and annoying. He should never be allowed to read for this series again, or for any book that has female characters.

BUY THIS VERSION!!!!!!!

This reread by Fred Berman is far superior to the original. That original narrator was whiny and annoying.
Fred Berman again delivers on a crisp clean reading with only minor mispronunciations of Greek names that he eventually gets right.
