Publisher's summary

The plan was for beautiful Claire to marry the terrifyingly sinister Simon of Navarre, wizard in residence to Richard the Fair. Instead, her plain sister, Alys, takes her place, proving herself more than a match for the man with the secrets. Meanwhile, sweet Claire falls in love with a handsome knight, and the truly evil Richard the Fair tries to make life miserable for all.

Set in medieval times, this is a rich, gorgeous tale of love, deception, and ultimate redemption.

LONG AWAITED

Where does Lord of Danger rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is without a doubt one of my favourite stories of this genre. This book was the first Anne Stuart's books i have ever read and it got me hooked. I love the story and its characters. Simon is a wonderful hero...dark, dangerous, wicked...yum ; ) I also really liked Alys...strong and clever and not annoying at all (often a problem with so many heroines in other romances). Alys' sister Clair is a bit obnoxious, but she suppose to be that. Her romance with Thomas is very sweet and makes a nice contrast to much more intense and special connection that Simon and Alys share. The only thing that i have a little complain about is the abrupt ending...but that just because this couple is so wonderful together that i want to know more about them ; )

What was one of the most memorable moments of Lord of Danger?

When Simon secretly came to visit Alys while she is transported in the cage. I could feel his despair and longing....wow...; )

What about Susan Ericksen’s performance did you like?

Everything, she did a fantastic job...just perfect. But i knew that after her performance with The House of Rohan. I always believed that from all the narrators of Anne Stuart's books she is the best.

Any additional comments?

Very happy that it finally happen and awaiting Ritual Sins next month...yay!

Love Anne Stuart

Great medieval romances with evil lord and a wizard who falls in love and becomes a hero. As always Susan Eriksen is a heat narrator. Recommend this book for Anne Stuart fans.

Redemption

It is a great story on love and redemption but too dark for my taste. The narrator was outstanding though

Okay

Ms. Ericksen did an excellent job narrating, of course. It was the interminable, unrelenting inner monologue of the heroine and her sister that had me grinding my teeth such that as I was halfway through I skimmed to get to the real meat of the story whenever this redundant monologue started up again.

Wonderful Listen

I had my doubts about this book, but I am so glad that I took the plunge and gave it a chance... and I am so glad that I did. What a beautiful story. The love between the h/h was so beautiful and heartfelt, and the intensity was brought to life by the fantastic narration of Susan Ericksen. Also, a bonus to have a secondary romance that was endearing.
My only disappointment was that I wish the ending was more prolonged

Love This!

This book is one of the many reasons Iove Anne Stuart! It's gothic romance at it's best. Well, technically it's medieval, but that's a pesky detail.

Seriously had me hanging on

I negotiated 2 chapters on a recent trip with my husband. We listened to 5. At one point I wanted to throttle the sister, but the end was perfect.

The history was very flat.

A rare book I can't finish this is one

I read across many genres with over 2500 titles in just audible. I don't always like the author's point of view but still I finish rarely do I give up - this one just had so much boring meanness. I decided enough already I am not entertained. Spoiler alert **** I think this may have been a sloppily take on Richard III but he had two nephews. 😳.

H manipulative and uncaring

I can’t say I liked this. The narrator was good, but the story was not romantic. Too much internal dialogue. Simon was not nice and was rather mean.
