Publisher's Summary

I'm one puff piece away from tearing up my journalism degree and hurling my laptop into the Hudson River. So when I smell a juicy story brewing at my brother's Wall Street investment firm, I'll do whatever it takes to get my scoop.

One clever disguise later, I'm deep undercover as the firm's newest broker, simultaneously gathering intel and spouting off stock tips like a boss.

Go me, right?

Sure, it sounds good on paper, but there's a catch: the actual boss.

Chief Executive Panty-melter Jack Holt is cocky. Infuriating. And one smoldering look has me ready to violate every rule in the employee handbook.

Thank God my assignment has an expiration date. Because falling for my brother's best friend and business partner is a lose-lose proposition. Right?

***

In the market for a hot tip? Here's one.

Don't bang your best friend's little sister. Especially when she's an investigative journalist and your company is the target of her latest exposé.

Unfortunately, I've got a hard-on for high-risk bets, and I'm more than eager to invest my considerable stock holdings in Ellie Seyfried's…ahem…glorious assets.

Friends with fringe benefits is a sweet deal, but it's not long before I'm falling harder than the post-bubble Nasdaq, hooked on Ellie's sweet smile and determination to make the world a better place.

There's only one problem…

When it comes to risking my money, I've mastered every trick in the book. But how the hell do I risk my heart?

Put a sock in it ( Listen and you will understand this title)

I listened to this book rather than read. Thank you Lili Valente for gifting me this audible version for a fair and honest review. I was a virgin to both of these authors, but not to the narrators Andi Arndt and Sebastian York did a fantastic job.
Wow this story has all the feels for a good romance, plus the storyline is different which is an added bonus. This book is light and fun, but raises questions which a lot of women face in the work place.
Ellie the female character may go about trying to solve these issues and get her story a little unethically, but she gets her point across and unsquelched a potential disaster.
She also awoke feeling she and her brothers best friend and business partner Jack had smoldering for years. Enough of that no spoilers. Read or listen yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

A Fantastic Story

I absolutely loved reading this book and I jumped at the chance to listen to it read by two of my favorite narrators. Sebastian York and Andi Arndt do a wonderful job bringing life to the characters. The sexual tension between Jack and Ellie is palpable and while their relationship is a little tricky at times it's so much fun to watch it unfold.

Ellie and Jack are Perfect

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely! The plot line was amazing, entertaining and different than other romance plot lines. While this book was funny and sexy, it also brought up important issues of gender inequality in the workplace.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ellie. She was strong and independent although she didn't see that in herself. She believed in a cause or in something and she went through whatever extreme to pursue her goals. I loved her insecurities because they were all so real and easy to relate to.

Which scene was your favorite?

I had a lot of favorite scenes but Jack.....stroking the mustache he stole from Ellie's place. The picture was painted to vividly in my mind and I am still laughing imaging the entire scene.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Although Ellie was undercover as Eric, I found it very heroic when she/he stood up for Lulu when Blair and Will were intimidating Lulu. Eric (as a new employee) saw a situation that was unfair and he spoke up even if he later became a target. As Ellie, she risked the chance that her disguise will be uncovered by sticking up for Lulu. It was a very moving scene and it reminded me that although this story is a work of fiction, there are people out there who still stick up for others when they see something wrong.

Any additional comments?

5 star audio

Loved how this story unfolded. Loved how the 2 authors got together and wrote a fantastic story that just flowed. It was sooo smooth. Loved every minute of it.
The sister of one of the partners is a journalist. She gets nowhere while interviewing members of the company. She wonders is it because she’s female and a family member. Sooo she comes up with a plan to dress up like a man and someone that is looking for work. One problem is she’s had a crush on her brothers best friend , who is also his partner , Jack .
Eli comes up with the plan when her brother is away trying to woo some potential customers in the west coast .
Jack isn’t really on board at the beginning but after that he helps Eli and also his attraction is showing. Love how the workplace policies are starting to come together for Eli
Love how the Human Resource manager is out to get her but little does she know who she’s playing with. Blair is a wicked woman who Eli has a hunch about.
Does Eli hunches pan out.
Love how the narrator duo is the fantastic SebYo and Andi ? They brought the story to life
