Great Second Book of Series

Very good listen. Angela Dawe sometimes monotone rhythmic voice is a little annoying...but other than that... Great Listen.

Listen to the sample before you buy, just to see if you can tolerate the narrator. Worth the credit I think. Don't buy, just wait for your free credit.

Very Good Series

Lady Isabella and Mac are quite the pair. Each Mackenzie brother is in each of the books and each quite interesting. I see Mac as a kind of Rhett Butler character though I can’t say Rhett’s character is as fleshed out as Mac’s was. The marriage should have been doomed and basically was except for the desire of the both of them, Lady Isabella and Mac, to make it work eventually.

I loved the part where Sarah came into their lives – but you have to read it to find out who that is. Wink wink.

The story was very sweet, angry, intense, and well thought out; and you know from the beginning that they will end up together so no spoiler alert, but HOW they got back together and WHY is a very nice journey.

I have completely enjoyed this series and I hope you do too.

I truly hope she continues with this series

This is #2 and I am not at all disapointed, just as good as the first one. Angela Dawe is great for this kind of era. I really can't wait for number 3.

It's tolerable!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No

Any additional comments?

I still believe Ian & Cameron had the best stories. This story was good but not as good as Ian & Cameron's.

A different twist

I just read the second book... The first book still remains my best book..... Despite this I love the story of Mac though he was supposed to be the easily loved of the brother's he didn't get portraited as such.... The story was different....funny at time....but from start to finish we knew what the end would be..... This is a story of fighting for love....hurrying the past and learning to love right. I would recommend to read this book. It's a great series.

It's all about the relationship

The second in the Mackenzie series follows the second youngest of the Mackenzie brothers, the artist Mac. He has always been the fun, irresponsible one, drinking, traveling between Paris, Rome, England and Scotland and doing things on a dare. One dare was to crash the come-out ball of Lady Isabella Scranton and steal a kiss. Instead of just a kiss, he steals her heart and they elope. Six years later, the two have been seperated for 3 years and Mac, sobered up, is trying to win her back. There's also a mystery in this book as well, involving an art forger. One of the things I really enjoyed about this is how there are snippets of society gossip from the beginning of their relationship to tell the back story, while keeping you in the present of the plot.

Love this series and the performance

Though I am an avid reader and have both e-book and audio of this book....the audio puts you right there into their lives and emotions. Buy the series and just enjoy. The MacKenzies are such strong personalities, but the women really shine.

Wonderful Story

What did you love best about Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage?

It was a sweet story and different from most of the 'Scottish or Highlander' type romance novels. The family members and characters in the book are people you will miss. They are a very interesting family.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage?

The say she was whisked away and enticed to elope at her coming out.

Which character – as performed by Angela Dawe – was your favorite?

Lady Isabella, of course!

Any additional comments?

The narrator makes this a delightful way to spend time.
